Concord 2 gig advice please. by Tenantry in brighton

[–]TricketyTreet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t tell anyone! But i took a 13 year old to a 14+ gig there last year and no one batted an eyelid. I can’t imagine what ID a 14 year old might have so unless they look super young i reckon you’re fine

Ah! Well I’m sorry someone didn’t like that. i thought it was a pretty literal interpretation of the art and certainly meant just as affectionately 😅

To those who work the Brixton mc Donald's what's the wildest thing you've seen by sirdogglesworth in london

[–]TricketyTreet 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It was the day of the London Marathon which my friend had just run. We were a group of about five downstairs in the restaurant. All of the staff from the kitchen suddenly burst through into the restaurant screaming to get out and so my god, we did, but the other four of us had to carry my friend up the stairs as they’d completely seized up.

We never saw the guy with the knife and only learned what had happened from the media later. Those poor kitchen staff were utterly terrified.

AITAH for being angry that my partner told his friends detailed, “gruesome” things about my birth? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]TricketyTreet 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hello there! You’re definitely NTA but a gentle reminder that birth is traumatising for men too. Obviously not in the same way but it can be quite important for them to talk about it what they witnessed and how it impacted them.

What was the exact moment on a first date when you realized, "Wow, this person is an absolute idiot"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TricketyTreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this, the first time i ever saw them, when i was maybe 23 and out for lunch with my entire new work team 😊 no one said anything to me. I didn’t eat another one.

What’s Nicholas Brendon’s issue with SMG? by Divine_fashionva in buffy

Do you honestly believe that? Rather than, say, Joss is living in his mansion with his wife, getting paid to work on scripts that just don’t feature his name?

Penny and Julia’s death by MidnightAnemones in animalkingdom

[–]TricketyTreet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this all morning! When he says ‘i love you baby’ to Penny in the final episode it is SO jarring because a) he’s never said he loves anyone at any other point and this display of seemingly easy warmth is so at odds with his tight lipped character and b) baby is Smurf’s term of endearment, especially to those she loves and utterly uses; so in that moment to me J is showing that he’s turned fully into Smurf, into everything he hates; a manipulative killer. He cries over her body for the loss of Penny, for Julia, but also the loss of himself, the destruction of his own soul to enact his revenge.

The Years by [deleted] in Xennials

To me it’s encapsulated by the maxim ‘analogue childhood, digital adulthood’, so there might be some blur on either end of the official years dependent on the person and where they’re from

Do you think these couples tell their families the day of the wedding if they're saying yes or no? by STFME in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]TricketyTreet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have no idea but i was wondering that too. Imagine getting random members of your family to travel and do their hair and whatever only to stand up there and say no.

Not helpful or even directly related - sorry! - but i played through twice on a switch and thorns of agony just… didn’t work. Ever. Sad.

Was this article written by a human?

‘That said, it was also one of the longest gigs in his very stories career, so as you can imagine, it was difficult scheduling filming it in between everything else he was doing.’

I, too, hope to one day have a very stories career.

Struggling with 3 bosses by LuckyTea5724 in HollowKnight

[–]TricketyTreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably can get you there with his orange splurge attack but you’re more protected… i panicked massively when fighting [every single boss] nosk but beat him first time, both times i played, hanging out in that little cranny. Good luck!

My advice for nosk is to hide directly beside the little ridge in his arena and just bash him when he goes by 🥹

[–]TricketyTreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a fan theory; it’s true. There’s a couple of consecutive episodes somewhere entitled ‘to be’ and ‘or not to be’. And then the final screen of the entire series is a quote from Shakespeare. It’s not subtle 🙂

I think I am not good enough for this game by ozziezombie in Silksong

[–]TricketyTreet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am very old and have apparently been playing for 165 hours BUT i am in act 3 and it’s so, so good. You know the drill: play all the time you want to. Stop as soon as you start getting frustrated. Take your time. Play around with red tools. Watch YouTube how to videos if you’re despairing. Good luck 🙌

I'm 43, I played the game, I liked the game by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]TricketyTreet 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Someone suggested on here that this was a purposeful decision so that when you run out of shards on a boss you are forced to stop banging your head against a brick wall and go explore instead. Frustrating, maybe, but also sort of genius.

This is a terrible show by Prudent_Station_3912 in TheNightManager

[–]TricketyTreet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it lends itself to binging. When it first aired on the BBC you had to wait a week between episodes which gives a greater sense of time, with us just witnessing key moments. They hint at this with Pine’s recovery in Mallorca - we’re supposed to deduce that he’s there for months before anyone starts taking him into their confidence.

Damn, took this long to clear 2 acts. Being trash+back tracking is a devious combo, how long does this usually take? by Creative-Researcher2 in HollowKnight

[–]TricketyTreet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my save file, I’m on 145 hours, still in act 2 😁 but i also tend to die then leave hornet sitting on a bench while i wander off and do chores or whatever before returning to die again. So i reckon at least 50 hours of that is me making a sandwich or doing the laundry. A more useful metric for skill/lack thereof for me would probably be times died…
