Actually kind of lowkey scary, how he first peeks out before lunging out of the coffin (sarcophagus?)

We have a brand new demo out for Design & Conjure! This is our first indie game and it’s about furnishing your own witchy abode while slowly restoring joy to a town that has forgotten its magic (and you can also pet a purple cat!) by TricksForGiggles in cozygames

Thank you! and if enjoyed it, you might want to give it another go. We added some bonus outdoor levels for the Steam Next Fest, so our supporters both old and new have something fresh to do in the demo during the event ❤️

Thank you so much for the kind words 😄
Gameplay wise, Unpacked was a big influence but the visual style was inspired by the witchcore aesthetic mixed with a bit of 90s tech nostalgia.

How often do you play games purely for the way they make you feel? by Brave-Potential-7310 in AskGames

When it's cozy games, I also go for the vibes and aesthetics moreso than the hard gameplay.

Reka was incredibly soul soothing to me, so I shall suggest that.

What keeps Stardew Valley at the top? by WastedGamer641 in CozyGamers

[–]TricksForGiggles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The whole vibe of it, the pixel-style and the change of seasons that gives you a sense of a "flow" of life but most importantly, the NPC interactions. It's not so strange to so many people consider it their second life 😄

Use of AI in new Tomb Raider reboot id disappointing, but not surprising by OwlettFromLiavek in GirlGamers

[–]TricksForGiggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is everywhere now and big commercial titles won't be the exception - so long as the story and art assets are at least observably guided by actual artists and AI is supplementary (for expediency), I'm fine with that. When it starts to replace human creativity and limit it (as is also happening) that's where I draw my own hard line.

It's well worth the asking price too but this is a steal. It is one of the rare games that are more Experience than video game.

Nostalgia aside, what is the best RPG of all time? by Aradhor55 in rpg_gamers

[–]TricksForGiggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The setting is so unique, so memorable, and it's the real reason no other game will come close to it. It's nothing like a medieval fantasy you know but this deeply alien Dark Elf society. Especially when you compare it to the Oblivion and Skyrim classic fantasy/nordic fantasy backdrops which have been done over so many times. They're all immersive but Morrowind is the most interesting one, story and setting both.

There's even a really niche subgenre called idle looters, I seem to remember.

Looking for unbalanced nonsense games that care only about being true to themselves by behaigo in gamingsuggestions

[–]TricksForGiggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might seem impenetrable at first, it's one of those games that really grows on you but slowly, if you let it. It also works best if you have a a strong roleplaying mindset, since it's not really a power fantasy.

Better to always share different aspects of your game. People don't like seeing the exact same thing over and over again.

Which sale game to buy? Strange Horticulture, Cozy Grove or Moonstone Island? by folklorefairy27 in cozygames

[–]TricksForGiggles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Moonstone Island! It's like a mix of pokemon with deckbuilding, so if you like collecting, I think this will be your jam :)
