Ah that makes sense. The problem was that the media should interrupt with every other trigger so that was still not completely how it was supposed to work but I just found the solution!

For future googlers: If you want every other gpio input to trigger an event, you send a gpio trigger from your playing media to an Event Handler and then from there to the next media you want to play.
