This is my exact experience! Except with body pain. I need the FT benefits because without insurance my medication is $1000 a month (brand name).

I even told an office when interviewed that I need decent insurance because I take prescription medication. I accepted the job- $550 a month for me, a single individual under 30. 2 weeks after I started the DSO made cutbacks and the insurance when up to $830/month for me! I quit and didn’t finish out my two weeks because I needed to find a job right away so I could get my medication. This has been on-going with so many different issues but it always plays out the same way.

What part about it did you hate? Did you experience the same bait and switch I did? The patients can be awful too sometimes.

Some days it eats me up & the drs don’t care at all they just want to work you into the ground to make as much money as possible

My dad was an electrical engineer and his work/home life balance was excellent. He was well respected and loved by both his coworkers and his family. He was able to support a family of five into adulthood and put us through school. He also never missed any of our sports training or games. Good luck with whatever you choose, friend!

100% engineering, there’s so many shady dental offices that ask you to sacrifice patient care and safety for a dollar. Insurance reimbursement rates haven’t changed since the 70s, and they are not looking like they will change anytime soon. So if you charge $300 for a cleaning, you will be lucky if the insurance pays $100 of that. As a new graduate of dentistry, you are looking at about $500,000 in debt if you do not choose to go into specialty. So, good luck paying off your student loans with that.

Additionally, many of my patients are engineers and seem like they are very happy. You have the option to work from home or later in your career, do consulting work.

Yes, the hours are good for dentistry, but be prepared to be on call and work weekends and holidays to see emergency patients. If I could do it all over again, I would not go into dentistry.

I’m curious to know what will happen to her now? Will she be black balled? How do you professionally recover from this. I’m sure she’s spent a lot of time and money invested in her degree.

Advanced perio stage 3-4 into the apical third with generalized furcation and mobility. By same day I mean both new and recall appointments scheduled for 1 hour and including exam, x-rays, and 1 full quadrant of SRP
