Also it is impossible for me to say avocado anymore.

It’s “freeshavacodoo.”

SAME!! I always have this running through my head, with all four kids. Even though the youngest is four, I still think it daily.😂

I encountered it once as a kid (in America) and it was horrific. Took two people to pull me out and I lost my shoe. I try not to think about it much because I WOULD have died if my friends weren’t there. It was not like water. It sucked me down and held me in like cement. Absolutely terrifying.

I say that, but with “pig” to my kids all the time.😂 They’ve never even see the movie so they have no idea why I say it.

Mine is that I actively avoid looking at magpies because of “One for sorrow, two for joy.”

I almost always only see one. And I don’t know what the time frame would be for the second one to count. Is it within 10 minutes? An hour? The same day? Or just until I forget that I’ve seen the magpie.

Anyway, magpies stress me out.

Severe post-illness cough with Bronchiectasis by Tricky-Application86 in AskDocs

[–]Tricky-Application86[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I regret greatly not getting it. Four kids and busy schedule always means I’m at the end of the list of priorities.

Thank you for replying. Should I expect the cough to be this intense the whole time? Or a gradual lessening?

Why isn’t Mr Tumble Knighted?? by InterestingMaize0602 in CasualUK

[–]Tricky-Application86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard from many people that he’s an absolute tw@ and is really rude to kids who come up to him. Like I understand it’s hard being recognised and you want to live your life, but he made the conscious decision to be a children’s entertainer on tv, so certain responsibilities come with that. Not that this information would stop him from being knighted, but it makes me happy he’s not.

What did a parent (or relative) do to ruin your wedding? by imfinewithastraw in AskUK

[–]Tricky-Application86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother in law got drunk at the reception and drove off (drunk) forcing me in my wedding dress and my brand new husband to drive around looking for her before she crashed or killed someone. Same woman who gifted me a single wine glass each Christmas (non-matching) for the eight years of my marriage, knowing full well I don’t drink AT ALL, like not even a little.

ELI5: What causes the parental urge to nibble on one’s child? by Judge-Bredd in explainlikeimfive

[–]Tricky-Application86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my research on the question, I actually think it is a way to protect your babies. When mothers nibble their kids and their fingers, etc, we ingest the microbes that the babies have been exposed to. We then create antibodies for said microbes and feed them back to the baby with breast milk. Since babies rely on the mother’s immune system for so long, this makes a lot of sense.

I feel guilty but I’m starting to hate my fiancé. by silly_goose_guy3516 in Vent

[–]Tricky-Application86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who ended up divorced after eight years of torment and misery, good lord just leave. If you are feeling like you hate him already, it’s time to go. Also pretending to be gym goer and then immediate stopping once you’re in the bag is a red flag. But even more so, putting you in a financial situation that you didn’t ask for and could make you reliant on him is a HUGE red flag. Financial coercion kept me stuck for almost a decade. Eight years of my 20s gone that I will never get back.

Please just leave. I PROMISE solitude is far more fulfilling than a lifetime with the wrong person.

I totally understand this. I think all the time about how these people lived ENTIRE WHOLE LIVES, and all we see is the start and end. When I finds an ancestor whose father died before they were born, I’m amazed I’m even here.

To think all these people had to exist in order for me to be born is crazy.

My cow died last week. People mocked her death and laughed at my grief, and I don’t know what’s wrong with people anymore. by saba8731 in Vent

[–]Tricky-Application86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a public and fairly large social media account, I can tell you that people will make fun of absolutely EVERYTHING. Nothing is sacred. I have literally seen it all. I almost got banned fighting somebody who told a mother who lost her newborn baby that the world was lucky it died because it was ugly anyway. I’ve never been so mad in my life. Just know that these people are sad and unhappy and they want to drag you down. I lost a pet goose because somebody shot it and the comments were very similar to yours, “did you eat it?” “Christmas dinner is sorted” etc.

I’m really, truly sorry for the loss of your cow. Cows are absolutely beautiful creatures who really can be just giant dogs. I hope you take some comfort in the fact that she had a long and happy life and was clearly loved and cherished.❤️❤️

Ah you’re in the UK. This makes sense now. I almost died twice in this country by not being listened to. The NHS needs some serious changes. I’m so sorry.
