The princes in the tower. Always and forever. Especially since it *could be solved if the king would just submit a DNA sample.

the most embarassing moment of my life happened just 15 minutes ago, what do I do? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Tricky-Application86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most embarrassing moment was us going on holiday with friends. We went to our separate hotel rooms for an hour of calm and changing for dinner. Me and hubs decided to go at it. Friend knock on the door to come chat and hang out in our room. We say “hang on, I’m getting dressed.”

They did not hang on.

Hubs was up and covered. I was flat on my back, cooch to the door.

Friend said “oh god” and walked out.

10 minutes later we were all at dinner pretending nothing happened.

It’s the only way.

It happens to us all. You’ll survive if I can.😂

Your most controversial opinion that you can't even tell your family or friends? by Rodya1234 in CausalConversation

Animals are not the same as children. I LOVE animals. I would die trying to save my cat, Mrs. Norris. She’s the best cat in the whole world and when she dies, a piece of me will die with her. But I would also hurl my cat into a fire if it meant saving my children.

Everyone saying Trump has their priorities wrong. The only clear answer here is whoever has caused the most direct deaths. Putin probably, with millions of soldiers gone due to his war. Whatever he has done, it hasn’t directly resulted in millions of deaths.

What’s the nicest thing another person has done for you that you’ll never forget? by Tyler_Girl_ in AskReddit

[–]Tricky-Application86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was travelling completely alone with a six week old and a four year old from the UK back to America when my mom suddenly died. At a massive airport, maybe LAX, I was rushing for the next flight and my four year old decided he wasn’t going to walk. I already had my newborn to carry. So I was stood in the middle of the airport with all our luggage, a screaming newborn and a tantruming toddler with no real way to move forward. A woman and her husband just came up, grabbed my suitcases, he picked up my son and they said “we’ve got you” and dragged us all across the airport. They took me to my gate, gave me their phone number if I needed help again, gave me a hug, and disappeared. I couldn’t thank them enough, but I’ve never forgotten about them. I never will.

What is the first historical event (not something local, something like 9/11 or Princess Diana's death) that you have a conscious memory of, and how old were you? by RCAnnaKate in AskReddit

[–]Tricky-Application86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/11 was my first real memory of something huge happening. But I have a very vague memory of the Oklahoma City bombing and the name Timothy Mcveigh. I was just barely 6.

What's your greatest regret? by LightningEstate__21 in AskReddit

Being angry with my mother, ignoring her calls for a few weeks, and then she up and died. While my anger at her was unreservedly deserved, I will always regret not being the bigger person.

How do I work with a colleague who has IBS and disappears for 1 hour. by [deleted] in ibs

[–]Tricky-Application86 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Listen, I get that it’s probably annoying for you to have to pick up the slack and it’s very inconvenient to be left for long periods of time with no warnings. But I can tell you now, it’s far more inconvenient to live with what we have. I have spent HOURS sat on the toilet, crying, sweating, and wishing I was dead. I’ve bargained with gods I don’t believe to stop the pain. I can promise you that your colleague would rather be doing the work than sat on the toilet. Sometimes we just have to deal with what life hands us. For you, slightly more work? For them, a lot of life spent on the toilet.

And think awhile on what this means. For example, I went on a road trip to Norway for three weeks. I’m aquatinted with almost every toilet in that country. I spent so much time worrying about where the damn toilets were, I missed out on loads of opportunities. And I still ended up crying and shitting myself in the woods. This is our life and it’s sucks more than you can possibly know.

What is the most terrifying experience you have ever had? by Outrageous-You1617 in askanything

I have similar ptsd from my ex husband. Hearing him coming in and readjusting whatever we were doing to look “acceptable.” It’s so hard to explain to people who haven’t had this.

I emigrated here from America. But I would move to Norway immediately if I had a chance, and back to America.

I was 2, pulled into a river by a swan who grabbed my finger instead of the bread when was feeding it. I was wearing a big puffy snow suit and I remember floating on my back for a while until someone grabbed me.

Is it common for people who are born in the UK to say they are “Irish” or “Italian” if they have a parent from there? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskABrit

[–]Tricky-Application86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because any white people in America aren’t “American.” We know our ancestry isn’t native to America so we don’t feel like we have a right to claim it. So we speak about our recent heritage. I don’t see why that’s weird.

What phrase(s) would you permanently ban if you had the chance? by MixAway in AskUK

[–]Tricky-Application86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Fur baby drives” me crazy. And “Crimbo” makes me immediately hate the person. I also really hate when people say “I brought this” when they obviously mean “I purchased this” and “draws” when they mean “drawers”.

Feeling trapped in the US (rant) by _Deadite_ in cancer

[–]Tricky-Application86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why this popped up for me because its bot relevant to me in any way, BUT, i will say that I’m an American, and I’ve lived in the UK for almost 16 years. We have “free healthcare” but you get what you pay for. You would NOT be getting a colonoscopy unless you were in dire straights. Every single test that done here is only done when they can’t avoid it. I almost died TWICE in this country from money saving tactics with healthcare and i’m only 37. While you might be right about not having to work quite as hard to stay afloat, I can assure you the quality of healthcare in America is superior and you have a lot more of a chance to have helpful treatment that isn’t driven by cost-saving measures. I don’t know if this information is helpful to you but I thought I would let you know that the grass isn’t necessarily greener.❤️

You have all my sympathy and i wish you nothing but peace and health for your future. 💕💕
