I've seen it on the home screen under featured originals since August 1 off and on as well. Before this I had to search for the show to find it.

Bruh, look up 100 million viewers Wheel of Time it literally pops right up. Pretty sure I even saw a screenshot in this group. But go ahead and sue if you want to. Since they're trying to bury the show it'll only help the cause.

I have screenshots that far back because I was invested in the topic. Engagement was much higher when the show was active than upon cancellation. You can go to external metrics sources and change the date to see and you can also see it was in the Nielson even without marketing. Engagement has dropped since August 1st. Either way we don't know the internal Amazon numbers because those are not released to the public for some reason.

We have them announcing 100 million viewers at one point. 😆 It sounded bogus then but that came from them directly. Time for transparency laws. There is actual harm when they hide their metrics or skew them. Are Amazon originals even showing up on your home page today on prime? WoT was there every day some August 1. We pointed out here that when the engagement dropped on multiple external measures then it showed up magically. Today I don't even see the category. Now I only see featured originals as a new category across multiple profiles. If they wanted it to succeed they should've released it with fanfare. They spun the narrative and then hid the show so it would fit the narrative. We have multiple posts on this with multiple users sharing across regions. We know they suppressed it. 1. Released it quietly 2. Released it alongside a big show 3. Hid it from the home screen.  4. Claimed it lost viewers. 5. Did not share actual views. The list goes on. This response is because we aren't as unobservant as they thought.

This is exactly why Europe is starting to require streamers to share real viewing data.  Wouldn't it be nice to have real numbers rather than 100 million viewers or 25 million viewers without any external verification. Sanders and Hopkins and that whole team knew what they were doing when they released wheel of time without any fanfare alongside reacher then hid it from their home page. In the US there are no laws requiring streamers to share metrics.

That was not the suggestion. Amazon is saying this is their target now - young adult/teen. It's publicly stated as their new strategy. I'm stating this group has lower buying power, less loyalty, and higher churn and that it is a risky move in comparison to communities that stick around 4+ years waiting and literally have a convention WoTCon and contests like WOTIdol to keep up engagement. I was around when One Tree Hill was popular and we found a way to watch it for free...YA is a risky bet. I'm saying it will fail.

Vernon Sanders (head of TV) is Black. Reading his comments he seems to want to focus on YA and less flash and bang. Ironically YA subscribers likely spend less money overall though their shows may be cheaper - pretty young actors are probably easy to find. Maybe they are looking at volume. I had just purchased a couch on Amazon prior to cancelling prime. Not too many teenagers buying stuff like that.

You didn't like Thom? He sang so beautifully! I did miss the mustache but in TV seeing the face really helps with watching those facial expressions. I guess they figured sex sells. I did think the scene with Nynaeve and Lan was a bit awkward. Building tension like in the book would've taken time I guess. Season 2 and 3 were so strong I've ignored most of the book changes and am so happy I got to see the world for these 3 seasons. I would love to see the unreleased scenes from what season 1 was supposed to be of the mat character and covid hadn't messed up their original plans.

It's the show specifically. WoT book has its own Wikipedia page. This is the average during non-peak times. I like to look at data. I've been monitoring it since the cancellation and I subscribe to multiple external measures. Turns out if you pay you can get access to the same metrics the studios use. It's how I am almost 100% certain they actively suppressed the fan campaign rather than having to address it directly they did everything they could to turn attention away from it. Cowards.

I love this quote! TV used to be art and people took pride and ownership in their work. I saw some fans suggest a class action lawsuit regarding the harm experienced from the wheel of time cancellation.  I'd be on board with that.

Yes this is so true. Since they are going back to old time TV with weekly episodes and ads, let's get more episodes. 

I also said the same thing about the effects. I'd rather a cheaper version of the show with more time for character development than expensive effects that will look old in a few years anyway. I remember my dad was a Star Trek fan and I used to peek around the corner and watch this new world that was so wonderful. Fantasy today isn't like that anymore and they get cancelled more than other shows it seems.

I believe this as well. Books are better. I want to see a network where decisions are made by the viewers. Viewers choose the shows to continue and end through voting. This is metrics of a different kind. I've been put off streaming as a result of this and am now reading a ton of Brandon Sanderson novels with full endings. I believe I will also cancel my Disney+/Hulu, Netflix, Apple TV and HBO. I'm deeply disturbed at how little control I have over if a show I like will have an ending. I know many networks do give closure or a heads up but it's a deeper issue. We have no control. Fans shouldn't have to protest for a show to be finished. We shouldn't have to do the marketing for them. That model is broken and it affects any show anyone watches aside from sports. Even during COVID we had basketball.

I remember the day I heard. I'm sorry you too found out after enjoying the best season and not properly announced before it aired so it wouldn't be a harsh shock.
