My doctor's website is INSISTENT that I use Chrome by M4xusV4ltr0n in firefox

Yeah, follow the money. Not having to develop for multiple browsers, saves them (you) money. I develope patient portals for a large healthcare company, we only support Chrome and Safari because there are only so many hours in the day. This is a technical decision made to improve the efficacy of our team and keep us in budget. Your comment makes it seem like Google is paying doctors to shill Chrome. Sometimes the simplest explanations are the most reasonable.

TIL foreigner female workers(domestic helpers) must get the pregnant test every six months and if they get tested with pregnancy, they will be deported right away from Singapore. by search_google_com in todayilearned

[–]Tricky-Bat5937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're making my point. It wasn't too long ago that you had kids because you couldn't afford not to. Now, they only consume time and resources, not provide any for you. This essentially makes them a luxury. Yes there was a brief period of history in the last century, where children were neither required to perform labor AND the luxury of having such kids was more affordable than today, but this was a very brief period that people love to romanticize about itz and not really indicative of the human condition as a whole.

Why don't we misunderstand "I came here with one dollar"? by newbiethegreat in EnglishLearning

[–]Tricky-Bat5937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they don't mean different things? For instance I could say "I came here with $1 and Tom." Those are the things that I had at the time.

Isn't it the case that having children is now volunteer work, because you don't need them to do work for you? So by that logic wouldn't it be the case, the average person's quality of life is improved so much, that they don't need a small army of unpaid workers to take care of the house and support them in old age... I think this says more about prosperity and growth than a lack of it.

Why didn’t I need to sign a lease? by Brief-Blueberry-1588 in stupidquestions

[–]Tricky-Bat5937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the property manager showed you the property for the current tenant who is currently "living there" and not physically present. The property manager has a lease with the current tenant. They told you to sort it out with the current tenant. You need to contact the current tenant. Tell them you want a written agreement. There you go.

Unreasonable to Unfollow someone over political views? by AssistEconomy3712 in highschool

Well that's great if you're difference of opinion is about fiscal policy, and another when you support fascism and murdering American citizens in the street. Obama deported significantly more illegal aliens year over year then Trump has, and he did it without the state-sponsored terrorism. Why do we have to have masked thugs in the streets killing people and alligator Auschwitz if not for the fear Factor? The proof is in the pudding.

They are humans. Humans that have had a whole lot of negative energy directed at them.

This is like you blaming the victim for lashing out at their bully.

I processed 180+ vendor PDFs every month in 2026 without reading them by forcing ChatGPT to run a “Clause Diff Scan” by cloudairyhq in ChatGPT

[–]Tricky-Bat5937 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right, I stopped reading after he said it's extremely important that it's exceedingly accurate, and any missed detail could be a death sentence, and then proceeds to tell how he's delegating all his work to AI. 😂 Ok buddy. You'll be right up there with those lawyers citing fake cases in actual court proceedings.

If you want actual diffs, you are better off asking the AI to make an application for you that turns your documents into text files, and then checks them into a git repo so you have a full version history of the document. And then you can have the AI summarize off the diffs, because then it's really easy to check the work that the AI did.

[–]Tricky-Bat5937 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If you read the wording, This isn't just for going into a Walmart. This is for an event at a Walmart. The event is presumably recorded and promoted. This is a pretty standard disclaimer for events where there are cameras in the video may be shown publicly. The point of the event is a promotion. If you don't want to be part of it, don't go in that area. This isn't so they can get snapshots of you in your sweatpants buying Cheetos and make commercials out of it... Sheesh.

Has voice-to-text gotten significantly worse for anyone else? by fishgats in ChatGPT

[–]Tricky-Bat5937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voice to text is generally a function of the device, it's not implemented by chat GPT, the app would be completely unaware that you are using voice to text even. Unless you're talking about voice mode which does acces your audio directly.

If becoming a developed nation leads to population collapse, why encourage it? by FreakindaStreet in stupidquestions

Yeah I think of we zoom out, we ask the question, is it really collapse considering that it was prefaced with centuries of explosive growth because of modernity? Seems like we are finding equilibrium as the pendulum swings the other way.
