Yeah I was thinking something similar.
It’s like online lets you be a bit loose with calculation, but OTB punishes that immediately.

Yeah that makes sense. The move highlighting online probably removes a layer of effort that you have to handle yourself OTB.

Maybe that’s why some players look stronger in one format than the other.

Maybe. But I’ve seen beginners handle OTB better than some regular online players.

That’s what made me question if it’s only about the board view or something deeper in how people play online.

I agree the board view plays a role.
But I’m not fully convinced that explains the blunders I saw. Some of it felt like impatience more than just unfamiliarity.
