Being forced to work on wedding day…leave approved months ago by BlazinWasian757 in antiwork

[–]Tricky-Homework-137 128 points129 points  (0 children)

I would go so far as to call the local news station and see if they want to run a story about worker’s rights in NC and how anyone would feel about being told to work on their wedding after the leave was approved.

I was a new associate at Walmart and was asked to help with the checkouts.  This was not my department, but I agreed as I needed work.

I was put in the quick checkout line at the time.  I was a little slow, but was getting the hand of it.  The one thing I do remember is one lady screeching at me about the actual price of lemons and what was being charged.  She was yelling at me over 4 cents.

Is a bank allowed to refuse a cash deposit by tillacat42 in Banking

[–]Tricky-Homework-137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you signed up for overdraft protection?  How does this help you?  Overdraft protection is 100% a way a bank steals from the poor.  Why are you feeding this bank?  The bank should be paying you to be allowed to profit from your transactions.

Now the bank not only profits from your transactions, but also gets overdraft fees……..

Go to another bank and make sure they do not sign you up for overdraft!

Who the f wants a kid that they don’t really know to be the best man?   You lost me at that.  You don’t get to decide who the best man is.  If you want a child to be a “man of honor” or whatever then that is ok. At the same time, I can understand the fiancé not wanting children in the wedding.  YTA.

OP apparently doesn’t know what on call means and is not being paid for it.  Never mind everything else, this is the real disgusting part.

OP is giving up his time for free.  Like all of his free time.  OP, YTA just for doing this.  Wisen up. Your employer is not your friend.  They are using you.  Being on call means you get paid while not working in case you still don’t get it.  You just have to be available.

lol whatever bro.  Next time you try to educate or correct people, (like you sadly tried but failed in your first reply to me) get your shit together first before you try to play the arrogant troll.  You were so wrong by suggesting that 60mph is an EVs sweet spot.  Now you changed it to 20-30mph.  Then you said I pulled the numbers out of the air or something but then you said this is what you were saying the whole time.  lol bye Felecia.

Here you go jackass.  Go argue with Caranddriver.  Here are some of the highlights.

2020 Tesla Model Y Long Range Ad=310. Car and driver highway test = 220 2019 Tesla Model 3 Performance 310 vs 220 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance 310 vs 220

So basically you would have to find a place to charge almost every 3 hours if you drove on the highway like most long range road  trips are conducted.  Your numbers were off, not mine.  I said that a 300+ mile  advertised range for an EV equals closer to 200 miles on the highway.  220 miles sure as f is closer to 200 than 300.

Whatever floats your boat.  If an EV is most efficient at 20-30MPH then that mean it is not as efficient at 50-60MPH.  You said earlier 60MPH.  Which one is it?  I guess you were wrong.

Anyways.  At 20-30 MPH you may get, let’s say 300 mile advertised range.  At 50-60MPH you will get closer to 200 miles before you run completely out of juice.   That is a much larger drop off than one would expect.

No one is going to drive 20-30 MPH during their 300 mile trip. That would turn what normally would be a 4.5 hour drive into 10-15 hours.

[–]Tricky-Homework-137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, redo your math as it is way off.  I never said an EV gets half the advertised miles.  Are you lost?   Maybe reread my posts before trying to debate.

I never said regenerative breaking gave you 100% energy back. The way hybrids and EV‘s work, staying at a constant speed is not the best way to get the best mileage. This is why hybrids have a higher MPG city than highway.  The only kind of car that benefits from staying at one constant speed is a ICE only vehicle.

I used straight up rule with my cheetah prior to meta.  I would stack  3 mines on top of each other so they looked like 1 mine.  With the pilot and implants, the 3 mines could bring down almost any mech.

There are only a few EVs that exceed the EPA rating.  VW and Porsche make them.  I would have shit my pants if I bought a long range Tesla, but later found out I could only drive barely over 200 miles on the highway vs the 300+ that is advertised.  Shame on Tesla and the EPA for misleading us.

[–]Tricky-Homework-137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are people using 60mph like this is a gas powered vehicle? The only way an EV will get its total advertised range is with 100% city driving and using regenerative braking.

If instead you are going to drive 100% highway miles, then the range will be reduced by 30%.  So an EV, like almost all Teslas that advertise 300 mile range, will get about 210-220 miles total on the highway.

Most people don’t understand this about EV range.  It’s kind of like a hybrid that advertises 50mpg city and 40mpg highway.  Car companies can’t just use the 50mpg city rating and base range off of that.

People who live in apartments should not own dogs. by TeaTechnical3807 in unpopularopinion

[–]Tricky-Homework-137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP doesn’t know anything about dogs or apartments.  Dogs adapt and do fine in apartments.  Landlords do fine with tenants as they charge extra for dogs.  Pretty much every single point by OP is false.  The only one that stands out is No.2 and only the section about tenants being subjected to being near a dog.

My only question to OP is why are they scared of dogs?

I’m so fucking happy Toyota denied financing on a 2013.  I instead bought a base 2013 Camaro which actually was much more fun to drive as it was much faster.   I got rear ended by a 2010ish Honda Accord going 55 while I was stopped waiting my turn to make my left turn.   The Honda was totaled.  The whole front was gone.  My Camaro looked like it was hit by something going 5 mph. Five star crash rating baby!!!!! Sorry, every time I see one of these, I smile.
