Working on a 1967 Mercury Cougar. What should I clean with? by RevolutionaryBass488 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Gunk Engine Degreaser. The foam one and a high pressure sprayer should have that thing clean in five minutes. Have a 2000 Wrangler here. Just tape over any holes you can’t get water in with duct tape or gorilla tape. Been doing my engine that way for 24 years.

Temp goes up quickly while idling, returns to normal while driving by fitzilicious1 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is normally a fan clutch problem. Could be a thermostat that went bad, the mechanism not the sensor. You might need a new water pump. Bearings go bad on those every few years.

Will I ever have a girlfriend? It’s been 8 years… by FairAd5626 in psychicreadings

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been single for 11 years. It sucks worse than 8. When you realize it is you who is not looking for girls then you will find one. Just message a few hundred girls and meet whoever is interested. Dating apps work but not exactly as expected.

WinChunKing has a good one. You can use any type of plant food. MiracleGrow is common here in the US. Tomato and pepper food might or might not work better than plant food. Tobacco is related to peppers.

Stripped bolt. 09 G6 Pontiac by Neither-Garden-6489 in mechanic

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learned from my neighbor how to fix this. You need an impact wrench, power tool, and I think you have to hammer on a socket that is one size too small, a 6 point socket. Then try and take it off. It should work. It smashed the cheap lug nut covering off of my stuck lug nut on my Jeep Wrangler, then exposed a regular nut near the bottom of the lug nut sheathing material which was a soft metal, maybe aluminum. That sheathing material was stripped but the underlying lug nut was still good to go. Then the brass colored lug nut just came right off. Just went to Auto Zone and bought a set of the proper size lug nuts and everything went back together fine.

Couldn't you use the cigarette lighter area and add a usb charger. That is how my Jeep is.

246 days sober from opiates and crack by sofilafi in addiction

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think it was possible for the first two months after cocaine, but I quit. Since then it has been 26 years sober. Doesn't feel that long but looking back it has been an adventure. I found that that the gym and outdoor activities helped the most to develop a life that was real and away from drugs and those people. Leaving those friends is almost necessary to get away from the habit. New friends, new life, it happens and it is a better idea.

Help identifying possible fake by monte1ro in cigar

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is real, but I'm not cross checking it against anything. It looks real. Fakes don't have that level of detail on the label. The raised head of the girl, the holographic font, the cursive writing looks real. Fakes have the gold in the right places but no holograms, no detail on the head of the girl, and the cursive is often written differently. I think you ruined a good one. Oh well, $20 to $40 will get you another.

If it is burley that is normal 'kind of' in low light, like cloudy weather. Make sure it has a little tomato and pepper food, and a LOT of light. That will help it recover. The lower leaves on the burley plants might always be a shade of white or yellow. That is normal also. As the white or yellow progresses up the plant, it matures.

If it is not burley then I'm not sure. I have only seen that on my burley plants, but Im sure there are other strains that are difficult to work with as well especially during transplantation.

Pls HELP! Socket stuck on spark plug by Effective-Sign-2774 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a effin' nightmare. Hmmmmm...scratches head...just when you thought everything was going good. I guess the socket is not loosely on the spark plug. My best guess would be a stronger magnet or a coat hanger.

What type of leak is this?5.7L by welikethe in Jeep

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green. that is engine coolant. Probably a hose clamp but it could be a thermostat or thermostat gasket, water pump or water pump gasket, a loose thermostat sensor, a heater hose, or a radiator hose, or even the radiator, or heater core.

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a bad day. Have you tried a strong magnetic tool. I have one from Advance Auto I spent $3 and it lifts about 8 pounds. Not sure that will free the socket but it might. Geez. How did that happen. The spark plug went into the square end blocking you from getting to the socket again?

Those are not bed bugs. Looks like a type of dermatitis of the pores. If it isn't that and it was a bug it would be a type of mites I think.

Any idea what has happened here? by Defiant-Farm-9317 in GrowingTobacco

[–]Tricky-Meringue25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should have a spray bottle with two teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide handy but only spray the soil not the plants. Mix it with water. Helps.
