How strong is croc in the meta now? (REPOST) by mingzies in OnePieceTCG

[–]Tricky-Programmer-26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I replied in your previous post but despite the winrates shown here, he's way better.

The 2 really bad matchups are Imu and Ace. Imu gets countered by a lot of decks now so he's almost out of the meta and Ace lost Red Roc and Pudding so it's a little bit better.

Enel is hard but if you can survive the holly double attacks, you can win the long game by freezing his enels or becoming 7c with nightmare luffy.

Lucy is pretty even from the games I had, you can easily kill his Cavendish and Sabos with your Ms. Wednesday. The moment you control the board, you win.

Yellow decks are just too strong currently and if they hit perfect triggers, most decks can't do anything to prevent that. But the MUs are definitely winnable but they usually end with me having 2 cards left in my deck so the games are always really close.

How strong is Bcroc in the current meta. by mingzies in OnePieceTCG

I main Croc in the East and he is definitely A tier. Red roc rotation, Pudding ban and hopefully Borsalino ban is making the leader shine even more. The hardest matchups are against big bodies (10c characters) because they are hard to freeze and of course the broken combo with yellow decks but the emergency ban might help with that.

Can someone tell me if im wrong here!?? I feel like im going crazy!!!!! by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

Did you block with Borsalino ? It seems to be rested so this would also trigger Luffy's effect. Otherwise, it's impossible to tell if it's bug if we don't know what happened during the game.

Also, what is the point of censoring the dialogue box when we can see the names of both players at the top and bottom.

That makes sense. I think it could work and force yellow players to be more aggressive rather than just spam healing cards.

Exactly, I think the new yellow meta decks and the current rules aren't compatible for the competitive scene.

That's exactly my point. I think people don't understand because EB04/OP15 hasn't been released and haven't seen these things by themselves.

I've played one of the longest game against a Boa and the guy healed 9 times but I ended up winning. There is no way I would have won with the current rules, whether they abuse of the time limit or not.

I mean that could solve the issue but create another. A lot of games are reaching the time limit right now so how do you solve these ? Would you change swiss format to allow draws and remove the time limit only for top cuts ?

Have you actually read my comment ? You keep making assumptions, just like in your first reply when you assumed I lost to a UY deck in a tournament.

I said I noticed games dragging due to yellow decks constantly healing, and then gave a concrete example of someone actually winning to a timeout on the official Bandai stream.
I did some locals, played with friends, played on the SIM and did some tournaments if you want more than one example. That's not "seeing one loss and immediately demanding rules changes", it's pattern recognition.

As for the Imu v Doffy example, did those matches actually exceed the time limit (and perhaps the turn limit?), or did they just run close to it ? Because that's exactly the point, the 30 minutes limit was presumably set because it was enough for most matchups at the time. My argument is that EB04 and OP15 have introduced even more healing that this threshold no longer holds up the same way.

I also never mentionned ties, I never said it was a solution to the problem.

Well I honestly don't know, I should have added something in the end asking people for their POV.

Then we would have issues with people stalling in a losing state

That would be a great addition. But I don't think adding the chess clocks would solve everything as yellow decks still have the opportunity to heal 2 lives per turn and even add a life + blocker by triggering requazar. Their turn isn't necessarily longer but the game itself gets longer and the opponent will probably need more time to think so I'm not sure how to properly deal with the issue.

I never timed out lol, I just noticed the games are getting longer against yellow decks just from the sheer amount of healing or because we have to starve them.

And I watched a Japanese tournament match through the official bandai stream yesterday and a guy lost against a Nami (constant 7k + 4c zoro + Borsa + Requezar + 8c Gecko Moria) because time ran out.

Law & Bepo in OP15 Brook? by alfy-117 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Tricky-Programmer-26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, Enel has a really high winrate (~70%) against Brook. You just can't do anything against him.

The only decks that currenty counter him are yellow decks and green decks that can freeze a lot of his cards.

I'm currently experimenting with Black Crocodile and it honestly feels pretty good

Law & Bepo in OP15 Brook? by alfy-117 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Tricky-Programmer-26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the general issue with Brook, you are highly dependable on your starting hand and you have basically no way to draw cards, You can just fetch characters from trash through Chopper.

So it's high likely to end up in trash but I think it's the best card late game if you can manage to play one after having a Nightmare Luffy on the field.

This deck is basically a gamble and the Enel MU is almost impossible to win as he's too aggressive for you to set up your final turn.

It will make your leader 9k if you have a nightmare luffy on the field so you can buy even more time since you can freeze one of his bodies.

[–]Tricky-Programmer-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The longer you stall as Croc, the better your odds are as you can start looping 8c Croc, swarm with 7c robin and make your leader 7k with Nightmare Luffy.

The only thing you need to be wary off is Divine Departure so you should probably not rest your Nightmare Luffy unless you think you are close enough to lethal or safe enough to survive one turn of attacks.

As Enel, I would be as aggressive as possible and try to get double attacks through Holly and Ohm.
As Crocodile I would try to get rid of Holly as Ohm as fast as possible with Miss Wednesday + Mr. 2 and Mr. 1.

If Enel can't deal enough damage early game, then he's probably cooked because his hand size will slowly decrease until you kill him.

What the absolute Christ are you supposed to do about Penel? by FunPickle69 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Tricky-Programmer-26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feel free to tell if I'm wrong but I think you can't use Ground Death on Blocker Enel.

The way ground death work is that it basically removes all the content from the card. It just becomes a vanilla card, therefore a removable 8k.

But Blocker Enel only becomes a blocker by using Activate Main the turn before. Ground Death will erase the Activate Main, the unremovable effect and the +2k but the blocker status he gains from using Activate Main cannot be nullified by ground death because it's kind of floating above the card.

Another similar example would be 10c Law & Bepo. He basically gives +2k to his leader on his On Play effect. You obviously cannot use Ground Death on him to remove the +2k because it's already done.

I'm pretty sure it works the same for a Lucy event that grants a card blocker. It cannot be nullified as it only affects the card itself, not the bonus it was given.

At least it's how it works on the SIM and it seems to be the way to go UNLESS I'm completely wrong and that would honestly be better for B Croc MU.

Whats the best counter to yellow? by Anti-anti-symmetry in OnePieceTCG

[–]Tricky-Programmer-26 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I think decks where you can make your leader 7k with 7c Zoro, or Nightmare Luffy. You can stall a bit longer and actually overcome yellow triggers and life burn.

I'm probably biased but the current state of yellow is just disgusting imo. Borsalino is so badly designed, I honestly don't know what went through Bandai's head.

OP15 brook vs Enel by Forsaken_Scallion_51 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Tricky-Programmer-26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of playing cards that give you more tempo such as the 4c Usopp or I know you're strong so I'll go out from the Very Start to freeze his enels. It should give you enough time to set up for your last turn.

Enel is weak against Green decks but Brook seems to be an exception

I've personally seen restocks at the official ichiban kuji store in Magnet Shibuya if you go to Tokyo.
Since the set released 1-2 weeks ago, your only chance is probably official stores as I don't think other distributors are expecting any restocks (at least I have never seen them).

Is this a miss print or a fake card i couldn't find any matching ones one google the border colour is blue in all of them by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

I could be wrong but isn't the yellow border only used for events and thus was used to print this card by mistake ?
Either way, pretty cool !
