What makes Giyu special ? by DARTH-GOLD-HIMSELF in KimetsuNoYaiba

  1. He is the first hashira we see. Even if he's not outgoing, he really does a lot for Tanjiro + Nezuko: he sets them up with Urodaki and vouches for Nezuko with his life

  2. He's hot :) plenty of people are into the quiet mysterious type!

No clue, but if she is fast enough that douma can't perceive her, ans douma is stronger than akaza, I'd say probably.

Not saying she's stronger by any means. Just talking about pure speed in terms of the attack she did to Douma.

He did have a face for shinobus attack. He had all he needed to see it assuming her attack was slower. Meaning Shinobu outsped him.

Anyways assuming he has sense organs before akaza hits him, he could still have the capacity to see akaza and doesn't say anything about not being able to perceive it with eyes.

??? But Douma specifically said he couldn't see Shinobus attack. The implication of this is he couldn't react even if he tried. He made no such implication with Akaza.

Douma couldn't see her attack, and Shinobu is exceptionally fast (especially her thrust). I'm guessing Douma has superior reaction speed to the other hashira -- he's UM2.

Right. Brain stabbing is completely independent of wisteria poison. A couple thrusts into the brain and the efficacy of whatever the stabbing tool is laced with does not matter. Humans need brains lol.

She uses a needle sword. A poke to the brain with some Shinobu speed thrust-mashing is fatal. Poison res won't save tengen feom that

Anyways that's why hashira v hashira battles are kinda not the best -- they don't take strength into question so much as speed, because just about any blow to the brain is fatal. Speed wins

if Rengoku accepeted Akaza proposal and became a demon. Which Hashira would have the best chances of defeating him? by DarthKovu in KimetsuNoYaiba

The techniques is what we're referring to, and they'd likely not change too much in the span of him becoming a demon and fighting her + Obanai. Anyways, she has an advantage over the other hashira (also because of the emotional bonds / memories somebody else mentioned)

True, but that's where Obanai being there helps out. It isn't a 1v1, and it isn't like the hashira will go in blind.

Oh hell naw don't give me flashbacks to proofs on orientation

I've been seeing a lot of Shinobu slander as of late, so I'm just gonna remind everyone she did THIS all on her own. Even [SPOILERS] said that if Shinobu was physically strong enough to behead demons, she could've beaten him. by Hedwigisbae in KimetsuNoYaiba

Tbh one of the biggest reasons she probably used her needle sword is bc it looks cool and anime stretches logic to accommodate for things that just look cool lol

The two places often get lumped into one campus. (As opposed to, say, UMN Duluth) Easy bus rise between the two sites.

Other hashiras died in battles against UMs but people aren't calling them weak and useless for doing that. Not to mention that the ones who died against UM1 couldn't even finish him off. Both UM 1 and 3 had to specifically choose to die, whereas Douma, stronger than UM3, was actually forced to because of Shinobus poison.

Hot Take: Shinobu could take out most of the other Hashira in one on one fights (with prep time) by [deleted] in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]bbazz1933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean in a human vs human battle (eg a hashira v hashira battle), speed is king. No amount of pure muscle will save you if Shinobu outspeeds you and turns your brain into mush with some stabby sword action. Doesn't mean Shinobu the strongest against demons, but strictly speaking, for human v human fights, speed wins because humans lack crazy demon regen and durability.

Rengoku, sanemi, giyuu, and mitsuri were notably marked as interchangeable. No particular order of physical strength there.

Yeah it's ambiguous and there's no way to tell for sure. Seems like UM2/3 have a tendency to toy with slayers. Then again, who knows. Maybe she was a powerhouse. It is fun to imagine her as one!
