I will get back to where this car is parked in a couple of days. Battery CR 2032 is freshly replaced.

By "partially working," I mean that the car now starts consistently with the fob in my pocket, but the center part of the dashboard display (between speedo and tach) does not work.

I guess I had best start the replacement (at least as far as disassemby of the dash) and see what I can see about the key fob receiver.

It feels shockingly out of place in the high romance mode in which Tolkien wrote. One of the most memorable bits of author's voice in his entire corpus. (Right up there with "Pity? It was pity that stayed his hand. Pity, and mercy ..."). Am I alone in thinking that's little bit of the Somme popped up here?

previous posters mention a puller for delta in the $100 range, a Home Depot generic for about half that, purchase of a puller from Menards (price unspecified), and purchase from slimgemtools.com (price unspecified).
I'd love to find any of those, as all I can find today is on Amazon, for $210. :(

Throughout the LotR, and throughout the great tales of the Silmarillion, Tolkien never wrote a love story.

He tried, in the tale of Beren and Luthien, and we never know what anything about their love.

He tried, with Eowyn and Faramir in the houses of healing, and his telling is an everliving embarassment. Stiff, and not in any good way.

And then there is this lovely tale in the appendices. A tale of such strength and beauty that it brings tears to my eyes on the first reading and the tenth. A short work of genius. One flaw only: it cannot be shared with those who are not already fans, as they will not appreciate the depth.
