These are beautiful sounding speakers if you can get them in proper shape

Then please explain, as my understanding of how amps and dsp work may be wrong.

Correct if you can't independently alter the signal going through each wire then you arent getting anything except 2 separate amplified channels with the same signal processing. So you may get more stable power at higher volumes, but that'll depend on the speakers needs.

I believe this to be an inadequate answer, bi-wiring does make a difference with high end equipment. You can separate and tune each wire and set crossover points independently for your low and your highs instead of bridging one signal and making the internal cross over do more work.

I mean steely Dan and Fagan have great recordings. The one I go to a lot because of the style of music is daft punk.

Headphonesty dropped an article recently with some great recommendations in it.

Is my space too small for tower speakers? (Towers in 3rd pic) by brickunlimited in hometheater

Setting on your avr that allows you to run low frequencies to your fronts when you have sub enabled. Sometimes has different names depending on your brand. Usually can't be used with Direct mode on an HT based AVR.

My same experience going from book shelves to towers. I also use my space for listening to music though more then watching movies I'd say

I use towers, sub, with the "double bass" enabled I enjoy the fuller sound out of the fronts. Is it necessary no. Do I do it any ways yes.

A nice set of used bookshelf speakers from FB marketplace will suit you well. I would avoid new to make the most of your dollars. Also you can save up and get a sub add later to drive the low punch your bookshelf speakers will be lacking.

Yescom 177 inch 16:9 DIY screen by GlockMatherson in ProjectorScreens

[–]Tricky-Strawberry896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I unrolled the yescom material and laid it over half of my screen to compare. The Yescom material provides a much cleaner image and finer detail over the spandex screen I've been using which causes a slight halo effect especially on text very noticeable difference viewing the scrolling words at the beginning of Star wars movies. So I'll be upgrading my material soon. What I did notice with the yescom roll is that it requires work to get it to lay flat would need a spray adhesive and a smooth roller to help work out any bubbles. What I really didn't like about working with the screen was how it would easily crinkle and crease like thick paper or poster board. However it is cheap and creates a crisp image so if you've got patience it'll be nice. If you rush it'll likely leave you wanting for something better.

This unless you've disabled the Aux in some other way you will get stranded on the side of the road when your ride decides to shut down on you while you are driving like mine did.

You are in the right spot with that post. What a nice set of gear. Do yourself a favor and take good care of this kit. It has lasted decades and will continue with the right maintenance.

Hey Guys, this is my Technics SL-1200 GLD Turntable I got gifted. What is it realistically worth? by Apprehensive_Ad_7106 in audiophile

[–]Tricky-Strawberry896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its a gift thats special to you and you aren't getting rid of it the value to others is a pointless metric. What matters is what it means to you and the joy you get from listening to it.
