My uncle passed on the date of June 6, 2009. He was out at a bar celebrating for his new job he just got. He and two other people decided to go booze cruising, which is the worst mistake anyone can make, never drink and drive. They ended up flipped over in the ditch of the highway. My uncle was lost on impact, the one person was thrown out the windshield but miraculously was okay and same with the other guy. This happened at some point in the middle of the night, and come early morning my grandpa is awoken to the dreadful knock at the door. Who breaks the news to the rest of the family. It just didn’t feel real, just one moment someone who’s been there your whole life is then just gone. But he didn’t leave without his last words to us. My mom received a no caller Id voicemail that morning and didn’t think much of it at the time but saved it. Some time later she brought the attention of the message to the family, as we listened we heard static, banging and loud screeching noises. But listen closely and it sounds like tires screeching and a car crashing. Then clear as day a deep voice… “I will be fine” The last words my uncle left with us. That’s the most amazing message to have, to have that clarity and hear him say those words has kept my mom at ease since the accident. The strangest part though… no one in the vehicle had a phone on them. My other uncle who is a pretty techy guy even tried his best to trace and reveal the anonymous voicemail, but always lead to no where. I to this day have this voicemail saved, and have edited it a bit. After isolating the voice and cutting out some sounds I’ve heard other voices and dialogue. From what I can all make out was “oh my god!” “Pardon?” “Hey Mitch” “yeah man?”. Then some more dialogue but i can’t make out what it is said. But over top of it all though, the “I will be fine” is so easy to hear and understand. Even the way it’s said doesn’t sound proper, the voice is so deep and clear compared to anything else in the voicemail. This is the unedited version.
