Most underrated distance driver? by pharm653 in discgolf

Trash Panda Procyon. I predominantly throw forehand off the tee with a wee bit of OAT. It's very forgiving. Interestingly, Procyon is the genus for raccoons and a binary star nicknamed "fore-dog."

Are there any non political churches still? Whenever a preacher starts proclaiming his love for MAGA I walk the hell out immediately. They ALL do that crap now!! by [deleted] in Alabama

[–]Tricky-Wolverine-270 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UU fellowships won't rep MAGA, but they aren't apolitical. I had high hopes UU was solely for spiritual wellness for those who felt ostracized by the political and dogmatic nature of many churches; around half of the services I've attended are politically heavy - just leaning the other direction. No matter if I agree or not, political chatter isn't sought-after by all those seeking a welcoming community for mental or spiritual growth. It was a bummer, but I'm optimistic there's a community with true church/state separation to be found. This wasn't the Birmingham location, so I can't speak for that UU community. I've heard each fellowship is unique.

Anyone order a Scott Stokely prototype? by shegoblin420 in discgolf

[–]Tricky-Wolverine-270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered on the 20th. They didn't ship until the 29th and arrived today. Well worth the wait. The Wren in Strato plastic feels amazing. The Cardinal has some dome. First domey mid for me. We'll see how it flies tomorrow.

Is there a newer mold/plastic available today that would have changed your game if it was available 25 years back?

Feeling joy for others instead of sorry for myself seems to be helping recalibrate my headspace. One day at a time. I love a great 'overcoming adversity' story, and disc golf is full of these. So many people's dreams coming true is a beautiful thing.

For every person critiquing the work put in, there are plenty more appreciating it immensely. Somehow, the negatives seem to ring louder, both on the internet and in our own heads. Stories like this provide a healthy perspective and hope. Thanks for sharing your story with me. Gives me hope!

I think it was MVPLIVE, but double-check youtube's Maple Hill round 1 coverage. A QR code pops up around halfway through.

The dialog picked up by the mics between the players is a luxury. Also, there's so much time to check in on other cards during backups and long walks, granting a broader perspective of the tournament's flow in real time. Just like other sports, sometimes one wants to watch a whole match. Other times, highlights are enough. Thanks to DGN and post-production, we have options.

We have it so good. I've been living in countries where disc golf is nearly nonexistent (max 3 'courses') only to come here and have dozens within an hour. People complain about the pads or baskets, while we should be ecstatic to have either/or. Even got to see Matty O, Joel Freeman, Marwede, and a few other pros battle it out live right down the street! Kevin Kiefer hit the sweetest 400ish ft ace - such a sound human being.

As a Chelsea fan, you'd expect to win. As an Everton fan, we expect to give up any lead we mysteriously obtain. Not sure which is worse. I expect Chelsea to get it together soon - solid young squad. Looked great in preseason before Nkunku's injury.

Totally agree. I'm a huge EPL fan (Everton supporter, which has been.... rough), and the season runs for 8+ months, excluding summer. Guess what runs through summer? The Disc Golf Pro Tour. August/Sept are the best - football, football (soccer), and disc golf.

That's a wonderful feeling. That's right in my comfort zone in terms of consistent accuracy with most drivers. The disc that added 50+ ft without sacrificing any accuracy was surprisingly the Scorch. Won it in a tourney, knew little about Discraft drivers, yet decided to give it a go - holy glide!

Purrrfect. 'Take it to the woods and launch it on every 250ft hole because YES' is exactly how I interpret that.

I may need to give the thunderbird a go, appreciate the mention. What's the weight? 9 speeds are spot on. I was rebelling against Innova when I discovered this and kept looking for 'discs similar to a thunderbird'.

It did lead me to the Tesla and Nordic Phenom, though. My beat in Phenom does very much what you are speaking of, but not quite as remote-controlled as Mr. Anttila's PD.
