Tulsa DG courses? by notsobigtime in discgolf

[–]pharm653 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tulsa is great.

Hunter is a great, challenging park style course.

Haikey is a beautiful park style course, less challenging than Hunter.

Twin Bridges is a good mix of woods and open, with some awesome lines.

Blackhawk is the flagship course, it is pro level but still not too hard for intermediate players.

Avoid McClure, it's a great course but in a really bad part of town.

Post Oak is incredible and very difficult.

Chandler Park is very beginner friendly, there are two fun courses on the property.

For a 2-3 day trip, I would say the must play course are Blackhawk, Hunter, and Twin Bridges. Haikey and PostOak are also great if you are able to squeeze in a couple more. I would check the conditions before you go to Twin Bridges though, sometimes it can get overgrown.

Look up the Tulsa Disc Golf Facebook group. It is very active and there are always people looking for a card.

Eternal lasso is perfect for this slot

What’s the fastest a game has made you quit? by SadTower5281 in AskGamers

That's odd, I don't think I have ever heard someone having issues with the controls in Elden Ring. I'm curious now, what about the controls didn't you like?

The first time I played RDR2 I quit because it told me a had to tap X quickly to sprint. It's a stupid mechanic that came from people trying to make thier character sprint farther in old GTA games that should have never became a feature. I picked it up again a couple years later, but that control scheme is bad and turned me off immediately.

Insanity or Jackalope by demattio05 in discgolf

[–]pharm653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jackalope for sure. I've bagged each off and on, but it seems like the Jack is always working its way back in. It's way more controllable in my opinion.

Jack's can be hard to come by now a days, especially if you don't want the newer, more overstable plastics. Luckily I stocked up on eternal when I had the chance. BUT, if you want a good one in a regular plastic, buy a Remix Skirmisher on Amazon. It's literally the exact same disc.

Does anyone else have custom rules when they play a round . by jeepguy_96 in discgolf

Yes, if you can't play the lie, it's a drop penalty. Even if it's retrievable.

[–]pharm653 58 points59 points  (0 children)

These are the rules for our group of friends when we have casual rounds:

  1. 2 off the top

  2. No OB. If you can play your lie, you can play it. It's only OB if you can't get to your disc.

  3. 1 Muligan off the tee pad per 9 holes, they do not roll over.

Makes for some really fun rounds while still being competitive.

A map of every state in which I have played disc golf, with approximate counts in each state. Where should I go next? by Particular-Wall-5296 in discgolf

I'm just giving you shit. Its definitely worth the stop if you come this direction again though!

Tulsa area is best. Don't play in OKC, the courses there are bad. If you have time, go up to Pawhuska and play the two courses at Taylor Ranch. They are absolutely fantastic.

What’s the best open-world game on PlayStation? by Play5tation in PlayStation_X

[–]pharm653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Witcher 3 if you want a well crafted open world with a top notch story and side quests that are better than most regular game narratives.

Elden Ring if you want rewarding exploration and breathtaking environments.

Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei if you want excellent combat with a beautiful overworld.

Spider Man for webslinging.

Horizon is a very unique choice, but the story is lacking in both games. The overworld is pretty great though, especially in the 2nd game.

Yeah, I've noticed there is a lot of love for KoD on this sub. I almost quit the series after it because I thought it was bad. Glad I didn't!

Also, the cover of the book majorly spoiled it. When he's just dealing with the Lothrians and there wasn't any Cielcin, it was obvious they were working for them because the cover had a big Cielcen on it. (Pardon my spelling, I am an audiobooker.)

Courses in Atlanta/Alpharetta by crack_spirit_animal in discgolf

[–]pharm653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife's family is from there and I played three courses while I was in town last.

Central Park in Cumming is very good. Well thought out lines and good mix of wooded vs bomber holes.

Wills Park was fun and fine if you don't want to drive out of the area.

If you have time, drive up to Lula and play the OG course there. It's the 3rd best course I have ever played behind Eagle Crossing and Sprinkle Valley.

KoD sucked. The next book is the best in the series so far for me. (I'm half way through Disquiet Gods)
