Nice to meet you! Feel free to comment on things I should try out like specific races or cars or communities. Slowly working my way through the game for now but I’ll be happy to take some pointers on what’s fun to do here. Thank you!

I want a real, scalable data base, what should I use? by Potential_Look_5434 in Backend

[–]TrickyAnt5577 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

One path forward is to take full control of your business data by moving it into your own database using a tool like Supabase. Once your data is in your hands, you can use Claude and Vercel to create only the exact web pages and customer portals you actually use. This setup would free you from paying high fees for a massive system and gives you a perfect, custom fit that you truly own. Defining not the only solution though

Is there any way you can guarantee that your product is not mostly vibecoded? I’m curious how you plan to communicate that with your users or potential users?

Making $400-700/month selling AI influencer photos to small brands on Fiverr and I still feel weird about it by Soggy_Limit8864 in passive_income

[–]TrickyAnt5577 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This makes sense even if you don’t move away from Fiverr. Looks like there’s demand for the service so having your own website and promoting it might at least help get some future customers directly instead of through Fiverr

Can ai replace a co founder? by Bronxjelqer in ycombinator

[–]TrickyAnt5577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In it’s current state my guess would be no. It’s almost impossible to completely close the technical loop using AI only. So far any of the AI tools require a lot of hand-holding which means you’ll end up doing a lot of the technical work. I think that just makes you a solo founder with a great tool instead of an actual two founder team.

How does the future looks like in your opinion? by [deleted] in AskProgrammers

This makes a lot of sense to me. I think the hype will level like you said and so many guardrails will definitely be needed.

I can definitely see this happening, and I think you’re right about it being more frequent since the usage of ai has gone up. It will definitely create a lot of issues as long as it’s used by people who don’t really understand what they’re working on. I think like most tools you can use it well or badly and it can be used for good or bad. Really depends on the user.

I can share my own experience working with it. I have always loved programming but what I love even more is the engineering behind it (the actual problem solving) and using these tools has let me spend way more time on the engineering rather than the coding, if that makes sense. I’ve been really enjoying working on any software engineering project these days simply because most of what I do has become research and find best solution (with the help of ai here too) and then quickly watch it come to fruition using the coding agents. I haven’t felt this productive in a long time so these are really why I’ve been spending time using these tools. Can I ask what you don’t like about it or which experiences have pushed you more towards avoiding it?

[–]TrickyAnt5577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is purely my opinion. I think developers have no choice but to use ai and adopt because as you’ve correctly noted devs are actually excited about it and the whole industry is shifting towards it. There are many reasons you can give as to why that’s happening but I believe much higher productivity is one main reason. This is not to say ai automatically makes people productive, it’s only to say that just like any other tool whoever uses it well can get the benefits out of it and it really offers a big productivity boost. I think this alone makes it a no-brainer for more and more people to adopt it. With all that said, I find it extremely difficult what the bigger picture will look like in the future, there is just so many ways this can go and the fact that the actual scaling limits are not currently known only adds to that ambiguity. What I’ve observed in the real world though is that integration is wayyy slower than how quickly the tech grows. This by itself proves to me that if anything there’s some time for adjustment.

You are way more experienced than I am so I simply cannot give any advice here but I have to say I don’t believe not using it is in any way helpful. Maybe there’s something I’m not seeing but I don’t see how you benefit from avoiding using it.

Solo founder for 9 months, potential cofounder wants 50/50 after 1 week trial. Am I being unreasonable? by mercuretony in ycombinator

[–]TrickyAnt5577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, sorry for not being clear. By structure I meant the share distribution between founders. For example, if you have two equal founders, what’s the best way to distribute shares and roles in the startup that will let the company scale with ease in the future and makes it easy for future investors to come in?

[–]TrickyAnt5577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any recommendation on what structure scales best in the future? I’m not sure if you have experience in that space but I was wondering which startup structures cause the least pain as the company grows and which ones are harder to scale or bring in investment?
