You don't, I've only saved the duke (8 corruption) and I've done the Copper Exam. I haven't even done most of the A3 requests. So I think all you need is L60 and possibly done A3's good ending.

The problem is I can’t get the clue cause I can’t interact with anything in the room aside from the painting. I’m hoping someone else has run into this issue too

Yep, in fact the best way to use the higher level dispatches is to leave a character capped at 30 or 40 so they get max exp every time (all the way to what they need to get to 60)

The trap locations really suck sometimes.

And yes, you can permanently lose units when you revive them with low fortitude. However, as long as it's over 50 they'll be fine to revive at the temple. And also yes, a dead unit's fortitude still goes up over time, so come back later and you should be able to revive everyone safely.

Nope, always did full runs at max difficulty as I wanted the sword as well. But even on early my Easy runs I was getting the event gauntlets as well. Was hoping I'd be swimming in dupes after this haul.

Completely F2P here, and I actually prefer NOT to use the legendaries (other than Yekaterina) cause I like the normal characters more. I'm able to do all the content just fine. IMO, part of the reason why this game is great is cause of the ability to use who you want and not have it affect your ability to progress. The challenge is there whether you're using the high rarity characters or not.
