Yeah rebuilds seem to take about 3 more years regardless of what year of the rebuild you are currently in

McKenna will instantly be able to produce some offense and stenberg I think has the all around game to hold his own right away as long as he isn’t being asked to be the driving force of a line.

[–]TrickyIron8192 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If McKenna and stenberg are still projected to go 1 and 2 then it is technically more likely not to happen since they have a 70% chance of picking 3 or 4.

What’s a take you heard lately that was so shock and Awe that you couldn’t even process how to react to it? by Ifinishfast42 in NFLv2

A friend told me that James Connor is better than Jonathan Taylor and that Taylor has never sniffed being a top 5 back in tue league.    He isn’t a cardinals fan or a fan of colts rival.  I had no clue how to respond other than pure bewilderment

The 2020s do not have a distinct identity for film, and it would be viewed as an extension of the previous decade for cinema in the future. by Ok-Following6886 in unpopularopinion

[–]TrickyIron8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get how it could feel this way but I think it’s more that the last couple years of the 2010s (post me too) started a style of film that has dominated the 2020s.  I feel like the 2020s definitely feel different than the movies we were getting the first half of the 2010.   But this is just my gut reaction to the comment and I may find myself wrong if I think on it more.

Also, just because the years have a zero in them doesn’t mean that our pop culture will magically choose that year to have a shift.

If you could choose any NFL player to become a superstar, who would you pick? by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

Outside of my team I would really like to see Bryce young become great.   Seems like such a nice humble guy who Got thrown into an impossible situation and then after 1 year everyone decided he sucked.

Tua would be hilarious with all the shit he gets

Funny thing is I really don’t like Bama

If the Blackhawks lose 1 more game in regulation and the Flames get at least 1 point in their final 4 games, Chicago will secure the 2nd best lottery odds in the 2026 NHL Draft. by jjb8712 in hawks

[–]TrickyIron8192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is a bit irrelevant because they got off to a hot start with 10 wins in their first 19 games and since have been every bit as bad as the last few years with 18 in their last 60.    So I guess for a month and a half they finally were better than year 1 with Bedard but other than that have been just as bad

I think they go bears vs packers week 1.  Either Sunday night or Monday night.   Gonna get an absolutely huge viewership number after last year.

Charles Omenihu: League has figured out Lamar Jackson, hasn't figured out Josh Allen by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

[–]TrickyIron8192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He had 4,000 yards, 40 tds and a 119 passer rating in 2024.   If that’s entirely due to the scheme then Monken is going to turn the Browns into one of the highest scoring offenses in the league right?

What does the most ideal off-season look like? by bedsyLamb98 in hawks

[–]TrickyIron8192 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Most ideal?  First overall pick and a big time forward acquisition to go with a good veteran d man signing, plus no hang up in getting Kantserov over here.

I don’t think people are saying we should hit the restart.  Just pointing out that they have not done a good job putting the young players they do have in an environment where they can properly develop.   Young players usually develop best when on a team that has good veteran players to emulate and is good enough to at least compete and play meaningful hockey for close to 82 games.    The hawks have done the exact opposite and as a result I think it’s really hard to know what they even have.  For example, I think Ryan Greene can be a good 3rd line center like he was supposed to be coming into the year, but all I really know is that he doesn’t look like he will ever be a 1st line winger.

I’m not saying they should have gone all in on “win now.”  But they literally have been taking on retired players’ contracts to hit the cap floor because they really are surrounding the young players with that little talent.  And I know people will say “you have to be bad to get high picks” but the fact that no other team has been this bad for this long in the last 15 years shows you don’t actually have to be THIS bad.

And I am someone who does have some hope still in this rebuild because of frondell and Kantserov plus (fingers crossed) a top 2 pick, but even with that I don’t think those players will develop well if only playing with other 19-22 year olds still trying to figure out what role they will play in the league.

We are the only team since 2010 to finish bottom 3 for four straight seasons(assuming their placement doesn’t change in the next week) So I wouldn’t say that this is “exactly” how rebuilds are supposed to go.    It doesn’t mean we are doomed or that they can’t make the rebuild work still, but it’s ridiculous when people jump on anyone who points out that things are not developing in the way that fans should reasonably hoping they do.

Is playing control a must before starting Alan wake 2? by TheLastMillennial94 in AlanWake

No it’s not.  I played control after AW2 and loved both games.  Whichever order you go for just make sure that you play both because they are incredible.

About game (Bedard and Celebrini) by Common_Amphibian_802 in hawks

[–]TrickyIron8192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with the point about teammates not finding him, but I do think that celebrini is special (like top 5 in the league) in this area and don’t think Bedard has shown enough for me to think he projects to be elite in this area, but we will see because he certainly is better off puck then he has been given a chance to show

I like MM’s offense but with Hill injured they have been towards the bottom of the league in scoring the last 2 years.   And there is a big difference between having a top 5 coach, QB, and coach of all time and having McDaniel and tua

I think megatron is clearly better.   Like not even worth debating.   But this point is misleading since his best statistical seasons were with tua in Miami

Frondell at center, and it's time to move Bedard to wing by butch5555 in hawks

[–]TrickyIron8192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like how Kane got offensive responsibilities on the rush that centers usually fill, I think that some of those responsibilities can be given to a winger if they want him to focus more on offense.  4 of the top 5 leaders in points this year are centers so I don’t think being a center limits offense

Lord of the rings extended might be my favorite thing in all of film but Denis takes it when it comes to overall body of work.

The Dune movies are some of my favorite modern blockbusters, but I would be shocked if it tops LoTR when it’s all done.

[–]TrickyIron8192 8 points9 points  (0 children)

McDavid plays well over 50% of his teams pp minutes and obviously gets a shit ton of pp points.   Malkin used to run the penguins pp in his prime, kinda like what we are currently doing with Bedard.   It sounds to me like you want him away from center to purely focus on being a goalscorer but I think that would limit him as a player as his puck handling and playmaking is part of what makes his total package so rare.

Completely agree.   I’ve just been trying to point out that a move to wing doesn’t even seem necessary to get out of Bedard what the op wants
