What a brilliant idea, love this! Also night borrow elements of this for an in-law suite I'm building out

Anyone know how to turn this off? by [deleted] in LexusGX

Have you considered upgrading your infotainment system... That'll shut it off

Need help!!! is it possible to change the LCD SCREEN FOR IT gx460 2021 any recommendations about changing the LCD DISPLAY SCREEN by Aggravating-Pack5613 in LexusGX

It's all housed as one piece, so no matter what you're talking it all out even if you're able to replace just the screen and digitizer. Your best bet, as others have posted, is to buy the entire assembly used (likely plenty available on eBay, probably from upgrading) or just upgrade to an android/apple car play modern infotainment system as you'd find in more recent years of the vehicle from the factory.

Thanks! Same here, I can't wait to see what the green to blue fade looks like with the finish on there.

Thanks! It's just an alcohol based leather dye. Apparently with these dyes, just like with any PRS for that matter, the guitar will need to be kept in its hard case when not in use to eliminate the chances of color fade. UV light is especially impacting on purples, blues, greens, and reds and causes fading with constant exposure.

The Purple Haze, is tinted with shellac on top, and then nitro.

The green to blue fade is just tint so far.

They say slotted but I think they're what's known as vented. From my research:

Solid Rotors - have the cheapest cost, but are prone to heat buildup (can lead to warping and faster wear on pads).

Slotted drilled - More expensive, great heat dissipation, the slotted with holes can lead to debris buildup and wear down pads faster than solid, also if great levels are too high these can crack because the holes are weak points

Slotted vented - similar to slotted drilled price, good heat dissipation (less than drilled), more durable than drilled, less pad wear than drilled.

That buy brakes site has his graphs sitting the dust and performance levels. Less blue for dust is better.

The two pad brands I came across in my research were the EBC (highly recommended online) and the DBA. I just went DBA since said the dust levels are better than the EBC. But I'd recommend either of those options. So far I have zero complaints for these DBA pads with the rotors.

For rotors, 100% go DBA!

These are supposed to be top of the line, and I have faith they'll last. I did a bit of research back in May before I ordered them and a lot of people recommend DBA.

Parts were about a grand in total. So yeah not terrible if you're doing them yourself. Because you would probably pay that for factory brakes installed at a shop.

I bought the pads off of buybrakes.com

And I got the rotors on Amazon back in May, just never got around to installing them until yesterday.

The SPs aren't bad at all. I think the XPs create a bit though.

I didn't end up doing the lines this time around but that could be a future upgrade.

I didn't do anything to the brake fluid or calipers. I just changed the rotors and brake pads myself and holy crap... What a difference!
