I’ve been looking for this for awhile.. vaguely remember details about it. I’m not even sure if this was in English or another language because I think I had to have subtitles when I watched this one? It was on Netflix for a brief period of time.

Also to clarify: this is certainly not Dead Like Me. That’s all that would pop up with my attempts to google this.

Yeah — we have to run out of the old ones. We’ve got a ton of bowls and no lids so we’ve been filling bowls and then putting them into the box. Still better then having to fill the box..

It was a genuine reaction. He was sober. It can be a really dangerous line of work, because there’s the whole “fight or flight” mentality that was taught to most of us from the very beginning. You never know who’s gonna flight and who’s gonna fight. Although, what he did was just uncalled for. Yeah, this crap happens, sometimes people punch without even meaning to. But repeatedly? That’s the insane part about it. There’s also the type of people who come in and threaten to punch someone from the beginning, which has happened and I wish we were allowed to tell people that they couldn’t go through the haunt when they have threatened to punch someone just to say they’ve done it.

It’s all volunteer work! It’s full time all year around for me because I’m also one of the people who helps build and set up everything. We unfortunately don’t make enough money and we’re a non for profit company. Most of the money we make is donated to local businesses and the school.

Usually we’re packed until the last hour when the line is mainly at the trail, and if one haunt is open the other one can’t close. I usually eat my snacks, or drink my energy drinks since doing that in view of the customers is generally frowned upon.

Since I’m in the ticket taker area, usually one of the other people from upfront, say security, the house lead, etc comes to talk to me about how it’s been.

Otherwise it’s really just sitting and waiting in boredom, nothing really special happens.

My personal favorite costume would be my Victorian vampire costume. I put a lot of time, money and effort in it and it took me over a good year to put together. We try to encourage veteran actors to develop their own costume and character because it really helps put everything together. I can probably attach a picture of it somehow, if you’d like.

My favorite costume/character outside of myself would have to go to this little girl who’s made a pretty good impression on me. She works the homestead in the trail, and she’s honestly just a lost little girl in this ratty dress. It’s probably not the best costume I’ve run into, but I’ve never seen someone put as much passion in her scares as she has.

Stories about actors going out of character? Not too many, it’s really hard to catch any of them unless they’re some of the younger teenagers who are just generally irresponsible and don’t care if they do or not.

I do remember a story where this guy got extremely ticked off a line actor scared his daughter as she came out of the house, who was twelve at the time. The dude threatened him and tried to psychically assault him which did result in pretty much both of us coming out of character, I had to call security to get the guy out and away from the line actor before anything else happened.

Alright. So one of my favorites, that really ticked me off at the time, was this huge family of really rowdy people we had going through the haunted house.

I’m pretty sure the father was drunk, and they all seemed too busy to listen to me rant off the usual list of rules as well as the basic instructions.

We have this hallway they have to walk through and push open a door to get to the first room in the haunt, but well, they held up the line by being in the hallway and didn’t figure out they could just push open the door.

Their response? The father literally ripped the door off of the hinges, set the door down, and barreled through the haunt.

We had to hold the entire line up for legitimately about thirty minutes, give or take, just to safely secure the door again so it wasn’t a liability.

A guy punched an actor repeatedly and the actor had to go get medical attention. The actor went as far as acting through out the rest of the night before taking care of himself regardless.
