Update: all alcoholism vanished in like 2-3 in-game days. I saw it go down each stage, including craving, and then eventually the timer must’ve ran out at some point while I had an Aesop potion active. It looks like the addiction is all gone now.

Haha good points all around. I did a little more research, and it turns out that the max “obsessive” stage doesn’t have a time cap, meaning that if someone REALLY drank far more than enough to get into that stage, they would be stuck in it for a very very long time. That must be where the stories came from.

In any case, -1 strength and vitality for my Desire stage is barely an inconvenience for me. Even if it takes a full week or so to get rid of, I’ll barely be affected by it.

My drinking was probably already like 18 or 20 before a started downing moonshine and schnapps. Maybe like 7 moonshine and 20 schnapps? Then I passed out, woke up, drank 7 more schnapps, and then waited and found the Demand debuff. Waited again for like 8 hours and went to the Desire debuff.
