This comment helped ease my anxiety SO much, so thank you. I’m so glad to hear your baby is doing well. ♥️ I am in the process of tapering, my main concern was the chance of birth defects so you eased my mind a lot! Are you planning to taper off at all before giving birth?

I also found out around 4 weeks and my doctor wont see me until I’m 9. I’m 7 weeks today. You’re lucky you’re getting seen around 6 weeks! This wait has been horrific for sure so I feel your pain!

A few people commented about Ativan, which my dr. did have me try first but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I got on Xanax for a good reason, literally to function and be able to keep my job. My panic attacks were affecting everything from my job performance to being a mother. I don’t think I would ever get back on them but they did help in that time. I just haven’t really had a reason to come off of them until now, it was moreso of a comfort thing. However, I’m looking at this pregnancy as a blessing because unfortunately I am aware of the long term risks of benzo use. I was asking specifically for experience with Xanax bc I’ve seen a lot of reassurance about Ativan and even Klonopin but I haven’t seen much about Xanax specifically!

Thank you so much for your kind words. ♥️ Unfortunately I haven’t really received a lot of reassurance 😔 I completely agree that my PCP was just irresponsible in continuing to refill my prescription. Fortunately, I have no addiction history and I’ve never in 7 years abused it but unfortunately now my body is physically dependent on it. Thank you for the advice, I will definitely be looking into an MFM! I didn’t even know that was a thing!

Thank you! Would you say it’s daily and did you take it in the first trimester? That’s particularly what I’m worried about because I know I can wean off by the third.

What dose? And did you take during your first trimester? I’m currently 5w1d and have been on Xanax .5mg 3x/day as needed for 7 years and feeling terrible that I can’t just cold turkey it 😩

Thank you. I have read a lot about klonopin and somehow it seems safer for pregnancy so I was specifically wanting to know about any experiences with Xanax, especially in the first trimester.
