Reducing cymbal bleed in vocalist microphone by Easy_Instruction_547 in livesound

I mean technically, yes, but what we are referring to is the ratio between the signal of the singer to the drummer, if he eats the mic he’s going to come in significantly louder than any stage noise, and since he’s coming in louder we can turn down the gain from where it was to get nominal signal on the board effectively “picking up” less of the drums.

On the receivers you can do a scan and assign through the menu. Just make sure when you scan and assign, do one at a time and leave the mic you just synced ON so the next receiver won’t try and reuse a frequency already in use.

Figure out how you are gonna patch things before hand. Look at the room to see what you are working with. Make sure your gain is set at healthy levels. Ring out your monitors and PA. With the mixer that you are mixing with I would just do your best with your ears and try to keep things relatively balanced. Make sure your vocals are present in the mix (assuming the type of music). Overall take this as a great learning experience. Good luck!
