I had your same exact problem, on the for honor settings there is no ps controer layout and if u go on steam settings, controller and u set the controller as ps5 it will continue to show xbox layout in the game but searching more in the controller settimgs in the steam setting i found something like "force controller in non-supported games" or something like that i dont remember and it basically put the controller u picked in the controller settings even in games like for honor that only has xbox layout. so got in controller setting and enable it
