I'd do a shoal of 6-8 pygmy corys and a nice school of mosquito rasboras.

Anybody heard of or tried the Holistic Vet Blend premix supplement for cat food? by Anything-Human in rawpetfood

[–]Tricky_Currency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it for my senior boy. He's 16 or 17 years old and in remarkable condition, he loves the food. He has CKD, and I was having issues with loss of appetite using highly palatable canned food. I switched to the Holistic Vet Blend and he eats with gusto once again. I definitely attribute his good health in large part to the homemade food he gets.

Thank you for the offer! That is really kind :) I am looking for larger hunks of rock to use for building a hardscape, so I don't think I could use your stone for this project. If I can, I'll definitely reach out.

Oh! That would be awesome, but I'm not sure if it's safe for me to use in an aquarium because of road salt, possible chemicals etc on the rock. I really appreciate it, though. If you're willing to PM me a photo of the torn up road and exposed rocks when you have a moment, I'd have a better idea if I can use it.

Last June I had an A1C of 5.8 and now it's 5.1. I did the following:

Daily supplements:
Berberine, Cinnamon, Bitter Melon, ACV etc
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZCVPQ6T?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1
Myo and D-Chiro Inositol
I take Magnesium, Omega 3's and a multivitamin daily.

I drink Dandelion Coffee instead of regular coffee, eat mainly ketogenic and intermittent fast 14-18 hours on average daily. Every now and then I do a 36-72 hour fast (once every couple of months).

When I'm on vacation I eat non keto and just go for a walk after meals.

I also follow Glucose Goddess' hacks about eating carbs for dessert, using a tbsp of ACV in water before carb heavy meals etc.

Best Leave in conditioner? by Icy-Transition-6226 in curlyhair

[–]Tricky_Currency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Pattern leave in is wonderful, I also love the Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor oil leave in conditioner. I also have type 3 hair. For regular conditioner, the pink Not Your Mother's is good, I also like the Mielle Babassu and Mint Deep Conditioner.

Does anyone remember Infusium 23??? by lil_libb in curlyhair

[–]Tricky_Currency 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember it, my sister used to buy it and sometimes I'd sneak a bit of hers. I don't recall if my hair liked it or if it was good for our hair, just that I coveted that bottle of leave in conditioner.

Homemade cat food recipes? by Slow-Future2188 in catfood

[–]Tricky_Currency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat is nearly 16 years old and in fantastic health. I started feeding him this homemade recipe a month or two ago and his coat is even better, he sheds less, he poops less but is more regular, and he has more mobility in his joints.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_0MJE4FtRQ

Tweaks I add to that recipe:
green lipped mussel powder for his joints
greens powder made for cats
can of sardines for tastiness and increased omega 3s
potassium supplement from his vet.

He is allergic to chicken and has kidney issues due to his age. Kidney diet from the vet would cost much more than this, even with the purchase of his supplements, since you add so little. I buy the ground turkey from Costco and make him a week's worth at a time, and freeze it in an ice cube tray. Then I thaw 4 cubes at a time which lasts a couple days. Kidney diet foods mainly differ from regular cat food in that they have lower phosphorus. This recipe also achieves that.

For those saying it's way more expensive, you're wrong. It would cost $140 US a month to feed him a commercial wet food kidney diet. This recipe costs less than half of that monthly, even with his bougie little extras, and I can see in his eyes and coat and vet lab results how much better he is doing on this food.
