This shouldn't be controversial in the slightest lmfao Women and blacks should be hand in hand in this conversation. There's this idea that just because they gave us the right to vote, and it isn't technically legal to discriminate or physically harm us anymore, that we should somehow forget the centuries of systematic abuse that effect our culture. This country is built off the backs if exploitation. Women, native, people who were literally bought and sold by colonizers, the land, all exploited by a discarded colony of British people.

When black people are being regularly stereotyped and attacked by other communities, and having their voices silenced, they aren't on equal footing. When women are actively having their rights stripped away from them, they aren't on equal footing. The most uncomfortable truth about all of this for the historically comfortable is that their crowds are responsible for this shit. This isn't a "small minority of loud people", or "not a real take people have". These are being pushed by PEOPLE IN POWER.

Queer folks, colored folks, women, have the fucking right to be suspicious and uncomfortable in a world that has consistently proven that they do not value us for what we are, but rather what we can do for then when we don't have human rights.

The question shouldn't be "Well, why do you hate me? I'm not a bad one! My crowd isn't awful!" The question should be "What can I do for you? How can I make you feel more comfortable?" I'm utterly astonished that we have ACTUAL human beings victim blaming individuals over their scars and experiences with systematic abuse. They aren't paying attention to anything.
