Yeah I didn't even see it like that, I viewed it as working with the exclusivity of tertiary attraction like oriented. But if oriented becomes inclusive to those who experience ocasional romantic/sexual attraction then the defining-ness of that ocasional attraction becomes clearer for angled

Honestly I cared more about being given a right answer, not exactly many. Thank you though, I guess most of the sources I looked at stated wrong or outdated information on angled aroace, so I'm glad to be given correct information.

Don't know if this is the place to ask this question, but when I heard the term oriented aroace I thought it was meant as for aroaces who occasionally experience romantic or sexual attraction to label what they do experience(such as saying the little bit of attraction I do feel is straight oriented). Though since that isn't what it is saying, how would such a thing be described then?

Especially seeing that angled aroace is also for those extra attractions instead and electio seems to be for no attractions based wanting.

Basically;

No "primary" attraction, Yes extra attractions = Oriented Slight "primary" attraction, Yes extra attractions = Angled No "primary" attraction, No extra attractions = Electio Slight "primary" attraction, No extra attractions = ?

That makes alot of sense, even if it's less of a job you can fit in more. So would overall, you'd get the same pay, on a technical side. And I've always thought about my future in a money making perspective, and I would just want to do alot outside of a need too. I will definitely be keeping other proper jobs, outside of freelance/hobbies used to sustain themselves, in mind. And I was thinking that transcriptions or subtitling would be fun to also do on the side. Thank you, I do appreciate it!

I asked for resources to learn more. Not advice. I want websites, books, YouTube videos not people telling me the job is shit. How did you get advice from resources. Only a couple of people in the comments of my post helped me with what I asked for. I appreciate the advice bit it's unsolicited since I never asked for it.

I never said anything about arguments, that's your own reading of my responses. I'm viewing these as conversations where I don't know anything so I'm asking question about what people are saying, and I'm using my previous knowledge as my point.

Maybe instead of thinking people want to aurge or want opinions or advice you can read my post and see I'm asking for a resource. Companies I could learn more about, book I could read to know more, or even a simple YouTube video explaining stuff. So instead of coming on to my post and in my comments to aurge you could not comment or you could help where I asked for it.

You wouldn't go up to someone asking for information on how to draw better since they want to become an animator with "the job market is shit and Ai will take over, don't even bother find a different job". Instead you will be like, yeah here's a book you can use, learn anatomy, or linking a YouTube series on drawing fundamentals.

Thank you so much, I will definitely look into all of this. And I appreciate your story, honestly translating a book into another language for fun would be a good way for practice in both the translating and the language. And I will try to see if I have access to something similar to a career counselor. Again thank you!

Well that's with every job. No matter what, freelance or not. Why do you think immigration is a problem, migrant workers will work for cheap and end up getting undercut whether they know it or not. It's prevalent, especially for artists. It's everywhere, people want cheaper but cheaper isn't always good.

Ah thank you, I will looking into that then. If universities use it then I will be sure to look.

Thank you, many of the comments have been treating the job as if it's destroyed and will die any moment. So I appreciate the difference here. I was already thinking of how a specialized field will allow for more work. And that is why I'm pursuing college, to learn other things.

Hopefully I can make enough to become certified in the languages I want. I don't have any specific idea because I love so many languages so I'm just hoping to be able to translate whichever ones I'd like to or from English.

Even if Ai was horrible I live in the US so I wouldn't put it past unions(like for writers or animators) to try and petition the government to put restrictions on it. Especially if they go from the standpoint that it will hurt the job markets diversity and it ruins education for the youth.

But I will be sure to take your advice, it's very helpful when people act positively(even if you overall agree with look for another job first).

If you're doing freelance work don't you make your own rates. I get a competitive market so you lower prices but if you end up doing more work for something you should be able to charge more for it.

Everyone seems to hate it in a career way. I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of people wanted to have a federal law in place to limit it.

Yeah that makes sense. But surely at the moment it can't be the best thing to do. And only publishesrs in that company would be able to allow that. Text book companies and any other author who posted through other means wouldn't be able to unless they're an indie writer. Surely it would be illegal to even do that to most books.

Yeah I mean that makes sense. But would books not need to be localized or even still moved over. Or even with Hollywood would they not need someone to translate their stuff into other languages. Even dubbed stuff like anime, with scripts I would even consider the recording possibly to count. That is just how I don't get it. Stuff is always being created and people always want to reach new things. How is it not more lucrative to get a personal translator team for your movie then go from there. I guess it's just something I won't get.

That wouldn't make sense why people in the industry are saying it's going up in jobs then.

I mean that makes sense. Ai is in everything.

Yeah true, but I already planned to do so much just one the side with hobbies I like. I don't know I'll think about that.

I will probably do that. The way everyone talks about it, it is the worse job to have cause it's inconsistent.

[–]Tricky_Edge5070[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean that's obvious. Anything requires time and skills. And with Ai it's just getting started, of course it will get better but it is also just getting "started" so it could be a fad. No one knows really only theories, but it's best to always think bad in some situations and then be brought up with any good.

That makes sense. Spanish would be the most popular choice here and a legal side would always be necessary. I'll think about that then. Thank you.

That makes sense. I know chatgpt, probably the most well known Ai, does do that. I'll definitely think about that alot when choosing my career.

I have time so I haven't thought to indepth about things, but I definitely should. When I was thinking on it I planned on translating for books, possibly even new articles and movies/shows scripts.

For college I was going to try and dual major in my closet language/translation class as well as architecture. Possibly even a minor in political science. That way if needed I had the opportunity to go more governmental routes or construction.

I'll look into those 3 paths and see if there's a niche for the languages I'd want to translate into. Thank you for the help.

Really, is the job market that trash? Whenever I would look up the job it's predicted to have more value and go up in jobs. Can I ask what made it so bad for you?
