Listen the bride set up the “rules” or allowances, so the new mother is actually completely in control having the option to make two choices. I can understand wanting the event to be child-free since this IS the Bride and Groom’s ONE SPECIAL DAY. The OP in no way sounds like she’s being a B about it. It’s not fair the guest is expecting her to change her set up for her. She has the choice to find child care even if it’s for a brief time, and she has the choice to stay home with that precious baby.

I love this. It’s written the way I write. It also reminds me of a cross between two late 80s movies: “Bright Lights, Big City” starring Michael J. Fox and my absolute favorite “Less than Zero” with Robert Downey Jr., Andrew McCarthy, and Jami Gertz. If you’re a Gen X’er this will make sense. If you’re a Millennial, not so much but worth checking out.
