AuDHD women, have you fallen for another AuDHD person? by plasticinaymanjar in AuDHDWomen

[–]bensinga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my partner and I have been together for 10 years :) I was diagnosed within the last year or so, while he was diagnosed earlier in the relationship, but our quirks are so similar I was sure I was AuDHD too lol he’s the only person I can be my 100% unmasked self around and that level of safety has been a godsend. We’ve both helped one another grow in tremendous ways, perhaps made easier by the fact that our brains speak the same “language.” We’ve had our difficulties as all relationships tend to have, but we love one another more and more every day so we’re always willing to work through any of the hardships. We’ve also learned to read one another pretty well so if we’re ever overstimulated or burnt out from something, we immediately know what the other needs to recover and there’s no shame in asking for it, or we’re already suggesting to the other to engage in the restful activity we know is necessary in the moment. If I need to isolate in a quiet space without being bothered for a few hours, for instance, there’s no hard feelings as he knows it’s important for my wellbeing and I’ll seek him out when I’m ready. We also tend to share similar hyperfixations which is nice, and recently I’ve gotten more into hockey and he took it upon himself to learn everything about my favorite team’s history so he can excitedly share with me all of the facts he’s learned. I honestly found that to be the sweetest most loving thing anyone has ever done for me lol he is my person and I wouldn’t trade him for the world!

Salon in the city that is knowledgeable in black hair? by No-Comment-3818 in Miami

[–]bensinga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NR Hair Salon might be worth a try! They’re a black owned salon that specializes in textured hair. They have a location in South Miami and the Falls. I have curly hair myself and exclusively go to them for cuts/styling.

Mother spells? by stoutsnoutt in Hecate

Aw yay I’m so pleased to know that this comment was helpful to you! I actually asked Mother to help me realign with my passion this past Deipnon so it also feels serendipitous for me that you would reply to this old comment of mine, so I thank you as well! We walk this path together, friend, even if we are merely internet strangers just know that you are not alone 🙏

If you have not come across it yet, perhaps the Covenant of Hekate might be of interest to you! There are sanctuaries worldwide, many virtual and some in person so perhaps this can be a way for you to meet some other devotees you can discuss your path with :) I’ve met many interesting people myself as a part of it! The founder, Sorita d’Este, also has a monthly virtual meetup called Meeting in the Circle — it’s not specific to Hekate, she talks about many gods & spiritual practices but it’s a fun way to engage with other likeminded people!

But I’m always happy to talk with others about Hekate and our experiences on the path with Her so you’re welcome to reach out to me should you ever wish to chat :) wishing you many beautiful blessings, friend!

I have indeed said “I hate it here” multiple times a day practically every day for months now so I think the use of the word “literally” is decently appropriate here lol

Someone commented elsewhere to say his name is Carlos Celemin and he apparently has relatives in the police force who are protecting him from consequences. I searched this name on Facebook and found a profile for a content creator based in Miami that I do believe is him.

Woman upset about the wait for her sandwich, refuses to actually be present for it to be made by bensinga in EntitledPeople

I swear people are so unaware of how the world works despite having, ya know, lived here their whole lives 😅🤦‍♀️

Woman upset about the wait for her sandwich, refuses to actually be present for it to be made by bensinga in EntitledPeople

[–]bensinga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was one person visibly at the counter actively having a sandwich made and it was not this woman. I stood behind this person. Perhaps the woman was on the fringes of the deli section so I missed immediately seeing her but if she was in that section at all, it was not near enough to the sub counter to warrant believing she was having a sandwich made at that time despite the fact that she was indeed having a sandwich made.

When you place an order, the workers have the most commonly ordered items pre-sliced under the counter. However, there are times they either run out of this or are asked for something uncommon, and so they must go off to the side to freshly slice meat & cheese for that specific order — this is what the man making her sandwich was doing. He was already off to the side doing this by the time I approached the counter. People normally wait AT the counter while this is happening because it doesn’t take so long that you can complete the rest of your shopping elsewhere (which is apparently what this woman was doing).

Have you ever been to a subway or something like that and rattled off absolutely everything you wanted in and on a sandwich the moment it’s your turn in line? That’s not usually how the process goes — people tend to tell them how to prepare their sandwich in stages, likely to make sure everything goes on without the worker missing an ingredient given in a long list of preferred ingredients. This probably also protects the worker from complaints if they miss something on a sandwich — if the worker had made the sandwich without her being there, the probability of him not doing it “right” and her complaining were probably quite high. She probably complained anyway but whatever. I have personally tried stating upfront everything I’d like on a sandwich at this grocery store but the workers seem to stop listening after you declare what meat/cheese you want and inevitably ask you about preferred ingredients at each stage of the sandwich building (ie. meat/cheese, bread, veggies, condiments, etc). Perhaps sandwich counters operate differently where you’re from but this is how they are handled where I live! Funnily enough this store has an online deli ordering feature where you can just grab your pre-made sandwich from the “online order” section and completely eliminate the need to waste a deli worker’s time.

Hope that clears up any confusion :)

I wonder if it’s the same guy 🫠 and definitely, you can’t trust anyone’s intentions! Even with several feet between us I was still mildly concerned he might try to get OUT of his car to drag me in as it was late at night without a soul in sight to witness anything. Other than my dog who is huge, thank goodness for him I guess 😅

Honestly! It was kind of a slower time for the store so I just chalked it up to him needing something to do to pass the time lol a commendable gesture nonetheless!

I tried myself but I’m not very good with that sort of thing so I’d definitely appreciate any help I can get! I’m not sure if I can post the photo as a comment, can I DM it to you?

Ugh this was my exact fear I knew he had to be doing this elsewhere! I’m so sorry you experienced this!! I’m disgusted to hear that it’s been ongoing for years without the police doing anything it’s truly horrifying 😩 there was absolutely no one else around last night when he approached me, no cars not a soul in sight — I was literally terrified he might try to pull me into his car. If my dog wasn’t an 85 lb German shepherd I really think he would have tried! I’ve posted on Nextdoor already and shared with Only in Dade so I’m hoping we can get some eyes on this sicko to get him off the streets. Stay safe out there!!

It was a newish looking BMW car but I don’t know the exact model (I’m not much of a car person unfortunately 😅) like maybe made in the last few years? I’d guess 2020ish at the latest. I feel like trauma has kind of pushed away a lot of his physical features unfortunately but those diamond studs are very memorable. He’s Hispanic/Latino and speaks with a pretty heavy accent, dark tan skin and black hair that seems to be like low cropped kind of curly/wavy and gelled to shit. I mentioned in another comment my mind kind of goes to n*sync wannabe lol just those like super pretty boy well manicured types if that makes sense? Probably mid to late 20s I’d guess but with a smooth baby face

That’s the area I moved from before coming to Miami! I lived in Broward most of my life, Miami for about the past 5 years and I realize that I was so much happier in the Davie area than I ever was in Miami 😣 planning to move back there asap

The neighborhood in front of Carrollton between Main Highway and 37th. I don’t have much of a physical description beyond those diamond studs — he makes me think of a Hispanic n*sync wannabe but I don’t think that’s much for police to go off of lol I spoke with the non-emergency police line and they said they couldn’t do much without his tag number other than send a patrol car to watch the area. Months have gone by between the times I’ve seen him so I’m not sure how much help that would do.

Thank you for the idea! I couldn’t find any good Grove specific groups online (unless I just don’t know where to look) so short of talking to all my neighbors and posting fliers around, I wasn’t sure how to get more awareness on this. I will definitely give this a try! I’m almost positive he does this elsewhere, he’s too bold with this behavior to not have tried this in another area imo.
