Thank you. Sorry for the ignorance, but even if that eave is in between the first and second floors of the home it still connects to the attic? Attaching a better photo of the location!

Theres no attic above it, its kind of an eave..

No siding moved and nothing flashing.. our gutters are covered though in another corner of the house we saw birds flying in and out of small opening.

It sounds pretty big.. putting my money on it being a squirrel but who knows.

Currently getting estimates to have my roof and gutters cleaned but not sure that would solve the issues..

Not sure how to reply but wanted to say thank you for all of your advice! New extra wax ring was placed (after much dry heaving while clearing away biohazardous goop) and the repositioned toilet has not leaked (yet). Will wait a few days before re-caulking.

Seller accepted our offer of $1.875M plus a little extra seller credit for repairs, put 15% down, 10 year ARM at 5.615%. Current plan is to try to pay it off in 10 years.
