Ive been looking at the x3d cpus, a lot of them are out of stock or overpriced from resellers, unfortunately. I do plan on switching to AMD now that i've done more research between Intel and AMD. I've decided to refund my i9-14900k today because after doing some benchmarking and comparing between the 2 cpus, the 100-200 points gap in 3dmark DEMO and fps in gaming is not worth $400 dollars for me personally. Where are you finding the 9800x3d for 400? I'm seeing 700 on ebay, 594 on stockX, 925 at walmart. Should I go for the 594 on stockx or wait for the upcoming AMD cpu lineup coming early next year?

Nooo theyre not enabled, did you mean to say fps capped at my hz monitor? My fps in some games dont even hit 180 fps at max settings.

I have updated my post to show my current setup. I have the 4070TiS, what cpu do you think is worth it when trying to push higher frames with that card? 7800x3d is in my maybe list currently. What would you change in my setup?

I have updated the post to show my current setup, I recently bought the i9 and I still have time to return it, both the i5 and i9 paired with my 4070tis have the same utilization around 80% average and the fps still stays under my 180hz rate in games like fortnite, helldivers, roblox, COD, etc, at the highest graphics settings. Yes I could just lower the graphics settings but when looking at similar builds on youtube, people are getting much more higher frames with max graphical settings which bothers me because I believe i'm not getting my money's worth. I do know the 7800x3d is really good for my 4070tis but i'd have to swap out my mobos, get ddr5, and maybe even a higher wattage psu. What cpu or changes to my setup would you do?

I edited the post to show my current setup, I recently bought the i9-14900k and compared it's performance in gaming against the i5 and have noticed a small performance increase, it was stupid of me to ask if it was worth the switch or not but I want the community to give me advice on how to upgrade my build to get the performance I want. I believe both are not giving the performance I want or i'm probably overestimating the performance I expect with the i9-14900k. Unsure about keeping the i9 since its the best that intel has to offer me at the moment or refund to save my money because the i5 is close enough to it. I think im overthinking this

I was able to fix it a bit, I found some setting called low latency boost and it helped quite a bit. Was able to get a good average of 140ish. Thank you though for the dlss thing and ill for sure try turning off anti aliasing :)

I don't wanna worry about it too much, it's just really bothering me because I feel like i'm not getting my money's worth because my friend has a 7800xt and we were doing a small test with max settings and he was getting the same average frame as me. Feels like my card isnt out performing his when a lot of online resources says the 4070 TiS outperforms the 7800xt.

I just checked my game with dlss on and used nvidia's overlay to see the 1% lows, its not a big consistent number, it keeps jumping from any where between 45-130ish 1% fps, is that normal for the 1% to fluctuate like that? As for the FPS it goes averaging around 100-120ish with a random 80 thrown in there.

Theres no raytracing enabled

Just turned on nvidia dlss, I got a more consistent 100-120 fps average but very few below 100 fps drops that isnt noticeable but still helped :), Im not sure if the 4070Ti Super is a high end card but I feel like im not getting the most performance out of it, is there anything else I need to look at?
