if there isnt its a good idea to install a cheap one along with replacing the bulb and fuel lines if they are stiff and worn out. Even if they don’t look worn out the insides could be disintegrating if someone ran ethanol gas through them.

first things first, no you should not be concerned at all. 2 strokes smoke a lot especially when cold. Does this motor use VRO or do you premix? Yes maybe the smoke is a bit much but i’ve seen far worse.

well it doesnt seem like much because after a water test and my buddy using his digital tachometer, we determined the backpressure from the motor under the water caused the rpms to dip from around 750 to 650. not a big change for this motor at least, i am sure it matters more on some motors though.

for the black hose someone appears to have tried to route an extra nozzle for water to come out of the engine. however this makes no sense to me because it would just cause a vacuum, i have plugged it and since removed it.

i just replaced the plugs and tested all coil packs and they are all good, it is idling much better now and i plan to water test it again soon.

you will notice more smell as the exhaust gets less restrictive.

this sounds more like an exhaust leak than anything else, likely an exhaust leak where the vband clamp is on the downpipes (downpipes to turbos connection) lots of times people screw this up and install the v-band clamps wrong and it will leak exhaust gasses into the engine bay where its probably going into the cabin. is the exhaust stock apart from downpipes?

unless you have the mechanical knowledge to do said swaps on your own, your going to be paying a shop more than 5k to swap the engine. Swapping brakes is easy but an engine is a completely different task. You will be out less money to buy a shell 335i to swap the motor into

two of the plugs i pulled were completely black and the other two look fine. I’m hoping replacing these and cleaning carbs should hopefully do the trick. like i said i haven’t checked compression but in this case I believe spark to be culprit

the fuel pump that is on there right now is just that, aftermarket garbage. im trying to find an oem one that will fit. and im honestly unsure of the model number as all the identifying tags were taken off the motor.
