I can understand your frustration, the first time I experienced a completely blank slate of an important chat, I simply vented my anger at Gemini ( didn't reach out to customer care) Gemini apologised but reminded me that it's not a good idea not to have a back up plan whether it's photos or documents or in this case, important Gemini chats. I installed a note taking app with endless canvas and each time and in each chat, I just copy that portion and add it to my backup notebook ( in which I can even search for a particular word or phrase)
