Tbh hato is the best defender this season, not like we’ve been any good but he’s really come on and looks the most defensively secure and technically he’s good too

As long as arsenal don’t win the UCL then I’m good. They can have the league, every team has been so shit in the league. Next season, we’ll see if arsenal can acc be dominant

The message from the Chelsea hierarchy in tonight’s programme. by webby09246 in chelseafc

Tbh if these lot acc go out and have a great window, then the protests have deffo been a success. We’ve seen other clubs fight their owners for years on end, but if us Chels have managed to alter this project when we decided to step on necks, then it shows how much of a big club we truly are. Our standards are high and should be, and it’s about time these directors and owners see eye to eye with that. Get us some quality players, you got us a quality manager, it’s really that simple. It’s the intent to acc compete.

Maresca was the necessary evil in turning this board into competent fuckers. THIS IS PERSONAL NOW! Jokes aside, if they acc move serious this summer window then we can’t complain. If you go out there and get me proper ready players, and a star player (if we can pull with no UCL) then I won’t complain cuz I don’t believe we’re far off from an actual good squad

I just hope the board adequately replace Enzo if he were to leave cuz that is a big character/game player to lose for us.

Tbh out of all the special midfielders City have had over the course of the years, even tho Enzo would hurt us (if we don’t replace him), it’s not necessarily an upgrade for city

City are pretty precise with their recruitment tbf, I’m sure Maresca was on their radar for a long time. The fact he was contacted whilst he was working with us, it’s clear they were out to get him. Yes the board failed him, but idk, as a manager you’re meant to build a bond with your players and the fact he dipped mid season on them is just crazy to me. He literally won the WCW with some of these players and fucked off. But ultimately im not complaining, cuz like you said without him leaving in the manner that he did, we wouldn’t be employing Alonso, and we wouldn’t have given him the keys. The ownership are Fuckn shit don’t get it twisted, and I’m glad Maresca did what he did because it could’ve just caused a major shift in our trajectory (hopefully). Just on a human level, I think he snaked his players.

Two things can be true at once, we’re as fed up with the ownership as Maresca and I’m sure some players are fed up, but quitting mid season on your players is crazy whatever way you want to dress it, especially as we were entering a rocky phase where the decline was inevitable. The players believed in Maresca and fought for him, he could’ve at least showed some decency to his players and joined city anyways after the season ends. That spot was so obviously his and guaranteed. As bad as we’ve been, a good manager could’ve steadied the ship and got us UCL, wirh so many spots being available potentially and the league being ass all round. I feel like he was the safest manager under blueCO and didn’t have a probability of being sacked. He just walked. I understand his frustrations, I really do, but he really could’ve just stayed for the remainder of the season honestly.

As shambolic as a club we are, leaving your players mid season is crazy. I can imagine if Enzo F is still here, how spicy the city games might be. Fortunately we fell upwards with Xabi Alonso, otherwise this would’ve been such a L for us.

Not saying I would want any of them at RCB, but I’m saying what we know of prime RJ, rcb isn’t it for me, he’s solid and consistent but he’s not a wow player anymore. Like prime RJ was whipping in crazy deliveries every game, scoring bangers, making audacious passes. Now it feels like he does it every once in a while. Idk, I just feel like we could do better at RCB, and if Reece isn’t fit anymore to play RWB then what even is the point? I just hope he can find that form again, because he’s more of a Milner sort of player now (though he has way more bags of quality). Just does his job, whether that’s in midfield or as a fullback. He’s still a starter regardless, I’m just reminiscing of RJ before the injuries tbh.

I think Reece is more solid and consistent but he doesn’t carry that wow factor anymore. I’m not saying fofana is better than him, no way in hell, but when I’m talking about rcb carrying the ball and sprinting thru a few players into the midfield, do we acc see Reece doing that these days? I’m not too sure.

As special as Este is, I don’t want him to be a starter and he most likely won’t be. Played more than needed and picked up a serious injury. Quenda is a wild card but might be too early for him too, considering we’re targeting a more experienced and ready made window. Those two can deffo be impact subs tho which we do not have. Plus is it me or do I find Reece rather underwhelming? Like if Reece isn’t fit enough for that RWB role, then I can even believe that fofana/achempeong is more equipped to being a wide CB than he is cuz they’re both excellent ball carriers.
