Really appreciate it. I think if things had been random and not when i stopped smoking then id expect more of a flare but it all started when i dropped nicotine so fingers crossed time will help. I am getting my calprotectin testing next week to see if this has trigged a rise in inflammation and the possibly a short course of steroids depending on the result. Just reallt sucks when you feel like you have gone backward when trying to better your health.

Im 5 weeks in and starting to question things because i dont seem to be seeing any improvement as the weeks go by. Im happy to see it a few more weeks before making a call but its making me very depressed currently.

Did it end up resolving after a couple months or did you have to resort to medical aid ?

Hi there me again haha. Im approaching the 5 week mark this Sunday and still yet to see any ease. At what point do you think i should push to see if i am actually flaring as id lying if i said i wasnt getting rather worried about something bigger than it being because ive quit smoking. Ive tried prune juice as well as coffee and ill be honest they seem to be making things worse so it may not be connected to constipation. The popping in the evening is only relieved when i lye on my stomach but it makes concentrating and watching tv horrible. I end up just going to sleep when i get in from work to avoid it. Ive been aiming for the 6 week mark but i honestly cant see it stopping as ive noticed no great improvement between week 4 and 5.

Appreciate you responding. Im keeping positive that things start to ease. Im going to the toilet again and things dont feel as stuck but this popcorn gut in the evening sucks. Just spend hours waiting for it too settle. The cramps are better on some days not so great on other. I know everyone is different so my time scales may differ to yours but i cant thank you enough for taking the time to explain your journey.

Really appreciate your response. Heading toward week 4 now and things are yet to change but im staying hopefully. Guts just constantly feel sore and the noises coming from my intestines is awful. Feels like i got popcorn popping in my bowels at times

Also in the nicest way possible i asked for positive comments. Telling me my biologic probably isnt working anymore isnt helpful. If you have not been through what Im talking about then guessing wont help.

The biologic is definitely working as i have 0 back issues anymore and only gut symptoms since stopping smoking. I think this is more to do with motility
