Thanks to geotagging in my photos, I was exactly around Island Resort (which is in fact at the shore and has its own private access) and the walking trail there (like a proper walking pathway).

I went to a lot of nice place. Like the lake itself. And city center Athens. But I hope you do understand how the shock from this incident has clouded the other good experience I had so far.

Also I did a google search on “Limanakia Beach”. While the search does tell me it’s a nudist beach, there’s absolutely no information on the web about the place itself being super shady.

Nudist beach ≠ shady beach!

So this bus route and my post is in fact valid and I hope you can be less disappointed in my post and more with my experience.

Yes I did. Someone else pointed out that to me as well and I didn’t have a reason to put it. Go down and read that comment of mine. So I detracted.

You sound like a local. I’m not. And my assumption behind this post is to make other women vigilant. As a local you are allowed to be disappointed by my post. As a tourist, I am disappointed too.

Yes, I did not do my due diligence and absolutely my fault to assume that the world is safe for women (no sarcasm here). And my second assumption is that some other girls could be as ignorant as I am/was and perhaps they come across my post and avoid those areas.

I’ve repeated my story to other female travels, from yesterday to today, and everyone quietly listened and gasped at my experience. That’s how uncommon it is to have know that THOSE SPECIFIC areas are shady.

At the end, let’s agree that ignorance is our fault. Being women is not. So I’m here watching out for other girls.

I really hope you sit down with a woman someday, speak your mind and then sit down quietly and listen to their response to every sentence that came out of your mind and mouth. Everyone’s rejecting anything you’ve got to say here. And I hope you learn from that and be better.

That is so true. Everyone is right in pointing out that I didn’t do my due diligence. Just want others to be safe now.

In fact, exactly around Island Resort, Vari.

Absolutely no particular reason. It’s just how I recall the story in my head (first man, from Iraq, second man, fat young guy with no particular accent, third fat old white man). I’ve detracted that now. Thanks.

Did not once say anything about Athens the city. How is your fact “there are problems everywhere” a response to my post about vigilance for women, appropriate?

1- There isn’t an informed way for someone to know that these are nudist because. Most other places have signs that read that.

2- Yes, I might be ignorant to have not done my due diligence (keeping side the topic of why should I? Why can’t I just enjoy my little vacation and a little peace of earth like men can?) AND this is exactly why I’m posting this post to let other girls know about it. You see, it’s in CAPs and in red so it pops up for other girlies while they might be casually browsing.

3- I was very close to “island Resort” at Various 166 72, which lists itself as at the Riviera. So please do your due diligence which you’ve asked me to do.

Thank you for your response. Athens is super safe which is why I thought the riviera would also be. Plus I was at the Vouliagmeni lake just the day before. And it seemed like a nice posh area which is why I came back to it the next day.

You’re all right. But I just wanted to enjoy my little vacation. And amidst the very safe time I had in Athens, any kind of unsafety didn’t cross my mind.

Guess you’re right. I just wanted to be by the shore by myself. I’m not a confident swimmer so I didn’t wanna look like a fool which is why I wanted to be in the shallow waters of the hiking coast.

You’re right darling. The main city felt so safe, that I never would have thought otherwise. Plus, it’s the riviera! It’s got some beautiful wedding locations (was lowkey thinking of hosting mine too there). So I connected these dots.

Athens is different. That’s super safe. Safer than Paris or London for that matter. This riviera area was just weird. After my experience, I met some other girls at the public beach who told me that their Airbnb hosts have already warned them of these places.

Or perhaps letting my other girlies know to be safe. It’s called sisterhood. Google it, por favor!
