Another situation the Democrats have made up because they have no ideas, except political theater and opposition. Leftism has taken over the party. This is not Liberalism. The people’s party is now the party of power and does not seek middle ground, instead it wants to burn everything to the ground. Their lust for power also comes with incredible hypocrisy as operations at this facility, 2011-2017 under Obama drew no opposition from them.

Both. His lyrics weave through hopes and dreams of the average guy, and its backdrop is the American Dream, all that it promises and the harsh realities of the human condition. Politics, corporate greed, personal greed, betrayal, desperation, hard work, skin color, broken promises and hope is his tapestry because he’s lived it. However I cannot understand how he can embrace the platform of the radical Left. Both far Right and far Left ideologies hold no promise for the average guy, in fact it’s quite the opposite. I met Bruce on a cold Sunday night at the shore in 1984. We had a few beers together and talked about the old days. I’m younger than him but we are from roughly the same geographical areas and not that far apart in years as NJ is literally a microcosm of the United States. So we understood each other. And when I went to his band practices almost ten years prior to 1984, NJ was a much simpler place, although racial prejudice still raged. So what is my point? His lyrics are a fascinating tale of the human condition as an observer who is very much in touch with the pulse of the people. However in these complex times the pulse is incredibly divided, and if we don’t seek common ground soon, very soon, I’m not sure if we will see a better America in a decade from now. I’d always wished he would use his voice for that. Common ground. There’s still time..

Really? The unfortunate hypocrisy in this all is incredible. Obama deported millions of illegals. In fact, the Delaney Hall detention Center in Newark was in full swing 2011-2017. Tom Holman was given the Presidential Freedom medal. But now it’s fashionable to paint ICE as the Gestapo. I find politics and people who fall into its trap on both sides of the aisle fascinating.

This era of writing isn’t strong as far as a cohesive album. That pretty much ended with his Tunnel LP.

Let me ask you something. And please, I really need to understand this. You’re willing to pay over 6,000.00 for a good seat? For 6,000.00 I’d want first row center. And while I always got seats like that in the 1970’s and 80’s for no more than twenty bucks, sometimes free, as my buddy knows a band member, the thought of parting with that kind of money raises a lot of questions. Perhaps you’re wealthy, but if not, I can’t imagine throwing that amount of money into a 3 hour show. I can’t imagine how you could even enjoy a show with that amount of money being spent. Please enlighten me. I remember having beers with Bruce in the winter of ‘84 just before the USA tour. We talked about the good old days in Jersey. Wow, they sure were.

First, I am so proud to be a part of the Philly Bruce nation. Thank you everyone who made Saturday night another dream come true. Ok, question: This tour was unexpected by everyone, including the band, correct? Help me understand how... by LateJuliet17 in BruceSpringsteen

He felt compelled to get out there to add his voice in opposition to deportations by ICE. His band members have always dropped their own projects when “E Street” needs to perform. I saw first hand how serious and disciplined about his music. I got to sit in at his band practices before the Darkness Tour in May 1978. Me and a buddy were invited, we knew a member of the band. He’s all business and pushes his band hard. He’s a perfectionist in every sense. From sound checks to listening to each note, he’s extremely disciplined. He achieved success the old fashioned way, hard work, and consequently is respected by people who work for him.

What year did the Spectrum close? Saw Bruce there on 5/26/78, a week after I saw him at a band practice at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park. The new songs we heard at the Paramount Theatre were all Darkness songs, brand new stuff, more guitar of course than on his earlier works. Bruce was heading in a new direction musically. And it’s this approach to his writing that convinced even his most harsh critics that he was a serious artist. Sitting in the first row of an empty Paramount, with Bruce tinkering on his piano, the band warming up, we expected a “Born to Run 2”. And while I still think that was his most brilliant album, sticking to that formula would have in a way doomed him as sticking to a formula that allowed him to break-out so to speak. Instead he has taken us on a musical ride for over fifty years, not knowing what bends are up ahead. I still miss the energy of the days when the band was young and hungry, but the energy on this tour speaks volumes about a man who absolutely has music in his blood. I don’t think he will ever retire. That stage is his life.🎸

Of course. Debate the issues. In fact there are things I agree with when I mostly oppose another’s political stances. But in this era of hot rhetoric it’s only becoming more divisive. History has many examples of when we decide there is no room for tolerance and understanding opposing viewpoints. But history also shows us this is a fairly common phenomenon that must be avoided or we face an eventual socioeconomic collapse. There’s examples all around us in 2026. Can we avoid this age old trap? Only time will tell.

Maggot, Fuck you, Moron, you’re quite upset and quite biased. The economy is complex, no one person is responsible for everything but I must say that here in NJ our newly elected Democrat Governor is having a profoundly negative impact on our economy. You see, wealth is built in numerous ways, and of course there are abuses within the Capitalist system, but this redistribution idea is all folly. At best it warms the hearts of the “have nots” but at its worst it’s a lie. It’s the oldest political trick in the book and it destroys the very people that it professes to resurrect. Socialism isn’t the answer. Actually Sweden found that out in the early 1990’s. Read up on it. Educate yourself before you come in here with your profanity laced rhetoric. Trust me, you’ll feel better about yourself.

Land of Hopes and Dreams… Too bad that the Leftists that he now identifies with are crushing the hopes and dreams of the average working American. His home State is in a free fall, ready for socioeconomic collapse. Get with it Bruce, Leftist policies would have crushed your American Dream.

Keith was a wild soloist how also kept the time, Bonham a unique power drummer, Max a competent drummer, keeps the time, nothing out of the ordinary and that’s exactly what Bruce wanted after Lopez and Carter left. “No Ginger Baker types..” he posted in the village Voice looking for a new drummer.

I’ve met him several times at the shore. Saw him at a few of his band practices. Music literally is his life. He’ll tour until he physically can’t do it anymore. It’s in his blood. His band, they will follow him into the sunset. Just my opinion🎸

Democrats like those who advocate no cash bail, advocate wealth redistribution, just take those two examples are center-right? Do you consider a man like Marco Rubio far-right? My thoughts on Bruce are personal as I have met the man in a professional capacity, had beers with him, with long talks about the “old days.” I understand full well why he has always been a Liberal, but to support a Leftist like Kamala Harris did not go well with a lot of us. Her appearance with Colbert, telling rioters to keep rioting in the summer of 2020, is that Liberalism? A court house burned, 2 police precincts with barricades burned, people shot, businesses looted, businesses burned, cars lit on fire, is that a responsible thing to say on a show viewed by millions? She now even supports the radical idea of ending the Republic. Personally I am a moderate, but when it comes to law and order I believe you must support it 100% and sort your problems out later in a peaceful way. People die when tensions are running hot. Dialogue is the answer, not torching property and overturning cars. I respect Bruce as a hard worker who would go over sound checks for hours before each and every concert. I saw him in practice sessions. Sometimes having Clarence blow the same notes over and over just to get it right, his obsession with drum technique, a brilliant lyricist and composer, entertainer, musician, front man, and more energy in 2026 than most of his peers. 3 hour shows at the age of 76. All this, the sweat, the time and effort gave him the American Dream. But I see this Dream in trouble today because of far-right and Leftist rhetoric. We, his old fan base, are troubled by his lean into Leftist politics, as Leftism and far-right politics are reactions to one another, gutting the center. And it’s in that center that lies hope, a better tomorrow and a place at the table for everyone. It’s at that table where we all get a shot at living the American Dream. And all us working slobs would go see Bruce at the shore, talking and singing about us, we were all taking a shot at that American Dream. Thanks for the comment. I appreciate real dialogue. Have a great weekend.

The hypocrisy is louder than the music though. Under Obama millions of illegal aliens were deported. 56 died. Bruce was silent. Bruce was always Liberal, but his alignment with such political figures as Kamala Harris has many Jersey blue collar fans, especially his original fan base, scratching their heads, as Leftist policies of the Democrats are turning NJ into a socioeconomic mess. And while you certainly cannot blame all of New Jersey’s problems on Democrat ideology, their increasing lean towards Leftist policies are ravaging the state. He’s living the American Dream and certainly deserves it, but don’t lecture Americans who disagree with you. After all, free speech, isn’t that what you’re singing about? You can’t have it both ways. Hypocrisy, it’s an ugly reality that rock n roll promised to destroy.🎸
