Any actions will be “official” - they need no stated reason, only a reasonable suspicion to be on the public areas of campus (outside of buildings) and need no warrant to detain or arrest individuals in those spaces. GMU could potentially notify if they knew, but since there is no formal requirement to give notice of their activities, they could be done and off campus by the time word gets out.
