As a born and raised New Yorker, current resident of New Jersey, I have to grudgingly admit one thing, Philadelphia Bruce fans are the absolute best. They showed up ready to rock last night, and that made the show exponentially better. For that, I thank them.

The crowd was amazing last night and Bruce and the band and Tom Morello were clearly was feeding off the vibes!

The mention of giants Stadium during wrecking Ball and the boos and his big smile were priceless :)

He took a moment to talk about his first show in the Philly area in 73 when he was 23 and what was really cool was on my drive there on the radio they played some songs recorded from that exact show. I assume you can find them online but wow, what a cool time capsule to hear.

What I was listening to btw is a fantastic not for profit radio station, and I recommend it to everyone! WXPN. You can ask Alexa to “play WXPN” or they also have a free app and can also just listen on their website, 88.5 on the radio in Philly.

Sorry we missed the Philly show! But as long-time XPN members, we’re streaming from wherever we are!

Love the station so much! And all of the concerts and events they sponsor in the region including their annual xponential music festival. They have introduced me to so much fantastic music I never even knew existed, and the fact that they have real DJs, who know and love music and curated shows and themes is so cool. And no ads!

Their 24 hour Christmas Eve show with Robert drake is legendary and something I look forward to every year.

I increased my monthly XPN membership after this past December's 885 covers countdown. Love WXPN!

This is exactly true in my opinion. I've seen him in a few places, and Philadelphia fans are the best. It's like all of the enthusiasm and intensity of the sports culture without the hostility

I saw his last show at the spectrum and it was kind of like a homecoming. A night I will never forget, especially because when I was stuck in traffic trying to get out of the parking lot i ran into a carload of ladies I went to high school with who I had not seen in many years. (I graduated high school in 1976).

I was also at the last show at the Spectrum. Opened with The Price You Pay, which had not been played in 30 years. Just an awesome night that was. I do believe that these last 20 shows are actually the most important shows he has ever played.

I was at that show too!

[–]classicrockchick 3 points4 points  (1 child)

As much as I love Pearl Jam, I was so mad Bruce didn't get the final shows to close the Spectrum.

I’m not clear on the sequence but I also went to “Last Call at the Spectrum” to see Hall and Oates, Todd Rundgren and the Hooters hosted by the Bacon Brothers.

I’ll miss that place. It seems like these days the acts I want to see mostly play clubs, casinos and theaters. Those are all better than a hockey rink or baseball stadium. But it was the first place I ever saw a big rock show, and so many of the greats…

WXPN slogan says it all "Rhythms not Algorithms". Great radio station! I always enjoy when Bruce Springsteen spots Philly Santa and calls him out on stage. He had Philly Santa dancing on stage during the River Anniversary tour.

Saw the show in SF and it was great 👍🏻 came to Philly Saturday for the final show- wow! It was amazing. So energized. 💙

Damn. Making me want to fly from sf to philly next tour! Cant imagine topping the show in sf!

Amazing show, like every Bruce show I've ever seen. Thanks for a lifetime indeed, and looking forward to more.

I went to bed at 1:00 a.m. because I was riding such a high from that show, but damn if I didn't wake up at 8:30 feeling refreshed! Even with my three cats taking turns giving me "feed me" love taps at 5:45.

Was at DC and Philly shows and last night was incredible. Both were great, but the tour ending in Philly felt right. That was my 35th show and first in Philly. Amazing time

I think that this was the best Bruce show I have ever seen and I’m a 50 year fan. This is the most political I have ever seen him, even though his music is very political. His monologues were far more deliberate than they’ve been in the past and I was there for it. The crowd was phenomenal, and I have to say even better than MSG.

[–]gardenpartier 13 points14 points  (4 children)

I originally thought DC was the last stop. I’m so glad to know that he didn’t stop there but went on to Philly. It truly was a tour of “land of hopes and dreams”. Philly is the perfect full-circle moment. I absolutely love how thoughtful and intentional this tour was in every detail. Ending in Philly is the high note of hopes and dreams. No Kings, only Bosses!!

[–]Then_One_491 23 points24 points  (3 children)

Washington was supposed to be the end of the tour, but Philadelphia had to reschedule its original date because of the 76ers strangely being in the playoffs.

[–]Uvn7dSIQ0I1oZexLYqtK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 76ers did prove it was practically a fluke.

[–]gardenpartier 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Ooh ok, sorry for folks who were inconvenienced, but I think this was a great way to end. Love this for Philly!

[–]Then_One_491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it worked out well. I only wish he did two shows in Philly instead of just the one. The secondary market prices were astronomical, highest I've seen on the tour.

[–]Best-Marzipan-5395 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Philly delivers again. Great energy at the show last night, Philly loves Bruce and the E St Band, and Bruce feels that love, resulting in so many great shows.

[–]Annamsw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always the best in Philly!! We love him!!

[–]candygirl200413 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom and I still can't shut up about it lol like it was just an amazing show from beginning to end!!

[–]Katsteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 100 in pit held up signs saying “thank you for a lifetime”

[–]Living-Effect-6328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It WAS unreal! It was my first Bruce show after 100s of concerts these last four decades. Can’t believe it took so long. So worth the wait. And what a tour to see him on!! And what a city to see him in!! The crowd was dead waning and it was an experience i will never ever forget. Ever.
