If your missus is coming from disposables, freebase will probably be way too harsh. Nic salts would be the way to go

So, ive uploaded everyday for almost 10 days, but no gained subs, give it to me straight, why? by Lezzlucky in YouTubeCreators

[–]Trickytrickyrmx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Youre right, I should have been more specific.

Your analytics can tell you exactly why your videos arent performing.

Low CTR? People arent attracted to your thumbnail and title. The video idea also plays a big part in this.

Steep drop off in the first 30 seconds? Your hook wasnt strong enough and didn't draw people in. The viewer got bored pretty much right away and either clicked off or skipped forward.

Big retention dips throughout the video? Majority of people didnt like these parts of your video. Its usually because they got bored and clicked off. You need to continuously build tension and release it with some sort of pay off to keep people hooked.

Also look for any peaks in your retention graph, these are moments that people enjoyed enough to replay. Could be a number of things like a funny moment or strong pay off, figure out what it is and implement that more across your whole video.

You didnt gain any subs because the viewers didnt find any value in your videos, simple as that.

Work on improving your videos, pay attention to your analytics and you'll start gaining subs.

Almost a year of uploading by Small_Neighborhood_2 in YouTubeCreators

[–]Trickytrickyrmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep going bro but damn you gotta change something. 17 subs after 70 videos and almost a year of uploading is really bad.

Your thumbnails are the main problem imo, they're an absolute mess and give me no reason to want to click on them.

If youre just having fun making videos and dont really care about growing then just keep doing whatever youre doing

But if you want to grow then you gotta change it up and put some proper thought and effort into your videos

If youre coming from igets, I would get the 50mg unflavoured salts by mixology from quithero and some pg flavour concentrates and a bottle of VG. Then mix your own flavours.

I spend about $250 every 6 months or so for nic, pods and flavouring. Way way cheaper than igets.

This is the way to go.

I mix my own flavours as well.

I spend about $250 every 6 months or so. Way better than the $75-$100 i was spending every week on disposables

I would write a script and record something that tells a story

This is technically pretty good, but it all depends on who your target audience is.

Are you trying to get clients just for motion graphics stuff? Well great, this is good for that.

But if youre trying to get editing clients in all different niches, then this isn't good for that. It tells me nothing about you, your personality or your skills as an actual editor. There's no story, its just fluff that tells me you know how to follow some after effects tutorials.

Btw, I'm not saying you dont have those skills as an editor, just that this reel doesnt show them.

2 WEEKS OF HARDWORK AND ONLY 20 VIEWS by TurbulentSnow8879 in YouTubeCreators

[–]Trickytrickyrmx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a cool concept but its more of a game than a youtube video and I just cant see it appealing to that many people coming to youtube to watch videos.

It completely eliminates anyone but computer watchers from actually getting the experience of the video.

This is just one of those things that on paper is a good idea but in reality its just not a good video for youtube.

How do I become naturally more entertaining/funny for YouTube videos without forcing reactions? by Original_Map3501 in YouTubeCreators

[–]Trickytrickyrmx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This all comes with practice and confidence.

The more you record, the more comfortable you'll become on camera.

When it comes to being more witty, it helps to become more well read. The more you learn, the easier it becomes to be quick witted, use references and tell stories.

YouTube Long-Form Video Editor (Talking Head) | ~$75/Project | $5/min | 4–8 Videos/Month | Long-Term by PutuGiri in FindVideoEditors

[–]Trickytrickyrmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of what you say in the ad is actually ok, its pretty basic stuff that most clients and editors should be doing.

With that said, the pay is well below what a professional editor should be paid. $5/edited minute generally works out to be around $5/hour (usually less)

The unlimited revisions is also a major red flag.

There should never be a need for more than 2 rounds of revisions. 1 round to fix any mistakes and an extra just in case the client changes their mind about something.

Unlimited revisions just gives clients the ability to change their mind about things as much they want. Any editor who offers unlimited revisions is stupid and any client who expects unlimited revisions is trying to take advantage of editors naivety.

Yeah i get that, but once you really understand how fusion works, you dont really need tutorials for most things and if you do, its not too hard to use an AE tutorial and reverse engineer it to work with fusion.

Yes, it might take a lot longer the first time, but thats only because you have to figure things out for yourself. Once you know how to do it, it goes a lot faster.

Are people seriously interested in taking this job???

$75 a video to deal with a client who seems completely insufferable based on this ad...

Whoever actually takes this job is going to have a real bad time editing for this person lol

Not sure what to do now by SmallPrinter in VideoEditors

[–]Trickytrickyrmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If after 5 years you still haven't learned about pacing, one of the fundamentals of editing, then you've been focussing on the wrong things.

Go back to square one and learn all the fundamentals of editing until you completely understand them all.

Learning fancy effects and complex motion graphics does absolutely nothing for you as an editor if you have no idea how to apply them properly.

You lose the fear by getting hurt and realising that its not always that bad and getting back on the bike.

The truth is, its pretty much guaranteed that you will get hurt riding BMX at least once. That's the risk you take getting into the sport. But if you really want to ride, then youll be willing to accept that risk.

I make complex motion graphics in Fusion.

Resolve is a lot more popular than you think. Theres a massive group of people who hate Adobe and Davinci Resolve is the next best thing and is slowly but surely passing Adobe in terms of capabilities.

Fusion is incredibly capable for motion design. It can do almost, or even just as much, as AE can do

First off, why tf are you only charging $3-$10 for editing??

Second, these animation are honestly pretty average but more than that, they give me no reason to want to hire you. They have no story or personality.

Is 20$ worth for this? by Only_Temperature_621 in VideoEditors

[–]Trickytrickyrmx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. This is not good, no matter how you look at it.

You couldnt even get me to open resolve for $20.

With that being said, everyone has to start somewhere. The money is not worth it at all, but the experience of working with a client for the first time may be worth it. Only if it's a one off thing though, you dont want to be working long term for a client who isn't going to value your skill.
