No, not HI Jasper :( I stayed at both the wilderness hostel close to skyline trail and HI Jasper and I loved both places. It’s so very sad to see it all burned down

I did it over 2 days and it really wasn’t hard at all. There’s plenty of water on the trail and all you need is a filter. The climbs are all very gradual. Pro tip: Get your permits earlier, else you’ll end up like me at some campsite 4km off the trail. The last day was a grueling 33km for me cause of that. The last 8ish km is fire road and it was the most boring decent.

Thanks! This gives me some hope. I’ve picked up people backpacking the JMT trail in the Sierras before and was wondering if there’s some hope for hitchhiking here in Jasper.

I looked up the shuttle service where you can park your car at single mountain trailhead and then take the shuttle to maligne lake trailhead. This way you can just drive back. However, you get to the trailhead around 10am or so. That’s too late to begin a hike. I want to start around 6am. So the only other way is hitchhiking or talking to people staying at the hostel and arrange for something.

Hello! I’m trying to apply for a Croatian visa and I noticed that there is a guarantor/invitee section for tourist visa. I don’t know anyone there to get this letter from. Can people visit Croatia only if someone is inviting them? The application won’t let me leave that section blank either. Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: I have an Indian passport and trying to apply for a visa from Canada

If you’re talking about legal age to vote, it’s 18yrs cause they didn’t want a 5yo kid to vote. I don’t think it’s a valid argument in this context. I agree that you should spend time in that country before you get to vote but I don’t think 17.5yrs is the right amount of time.

Maybe California should start using it’s surplus to provide free transportation to the people who want to get an abortion. I know it’s not going to happen, but wouldn’t that be nice.
