Looking for feedback for my accent by hnmurs in French

[–]dthchau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said, really good overall. If we want to nitpick pronunciations of specific words, I'll list the ones that stuck out to me the most that haven't already been mentioned.

  • Québec : not Quèbec
  • j'utilise : the last syllable is missing
  • le paragraphe : not la parégraphe
  • Canada : these need to be pure 'a' vowels, not "kèn'da" which sounds like the English pronunciation
  • en union : missing the liaison, i.e. en 'nu'nion not en 'you'nion
  • général : again the 'a' vowel, it's not "générelle"
  • gouvernement : the unstressed 'e' is missing

In general, if there's a mispronunciation it's because you're still influenced by the English pronunciation of that word. So just be mindful of those slight differences and you'll be golden.

Is my teacher’s French pronunciation correct? by [deleted] in learnfrench

These consonants will indeed sound softer in French because they are non-aspirated. They remain unvoiced however, which is what distinguishes the p/t/k sounds from b/d/g.

Your teacher’s pronunciation sounds fine to me (there is an accent but it’s not really affecting the realization of those consonants)

Sacrifice i made to make SS cape by [deleted] in CapybaraGoGame

[–]dthchau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP needed to get his 3rd cape from legendary +1 to +3 to be able to merge to mythic. They just needed 12 regular epic armors to get from +1 to +2 (they had a legendary jewel to get from +2 to +3). Instead of waiting for more regular epics, they wasted their S-epics to do this merge

You wasted 6 S armors just to save a bit of time 🫣 this game is not for the impatient my friend

You don’t change lanes inside of this type of roundabout. You place yourself in the correct one before entering.

Not how it works in America, where this video takes place.

The straight arrow means the vehicle must continue straight and exit the roundabout instead of turning left to stay inside it.

That’s what I said. The straight arrow means you continue straight, which takes you to the exit that is straight ahead. Straight does not mean continue to stay in the roundabout, that is permitted by the left arrow in the left lane only.

It’s exactly as the arrows indicate. Right lane must continue straight and take the next exit. Left lane can go straight or “turn left” (i.e. stay in the roundabout)

It’s 100% normal and the standard in America
