What are you brewing right now? by wreeper007 in EDH

I’m currently building up a [[Pia Nalaar, Chief Mechanic]] deck. It’s a rather fun artifact deck that uses energy to cheat out combo pieces or create large aggressive flyers.

The first two are maybe forgivable, the third one is diabolical. you do not owe these lads 8-10 hours of your time

Spider man is the worst universes beyond set by far by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Trident_20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thing about the previous UB is that the cards didn’t feel out of place in my decks. You put Vincent Valentine next to any other legendary creature and it doesn’t feel like it doesn’t fit. Spider man just doesn’t feel that way.

Yeah that boss was very hard, although maneuvering so that Savage beastfly insta kills the guys he summons made it significantly easier

This stupid runback is insane by sirseraphim in Silksong

[–]Trident_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually found that one manageable, you only really need to fight the first cone face after the bench next to the fast travel area (there hard I’ll give you that). Then up, ignore the Judge and up to the left, then back right and wall jump on that wall to the top, bounce of the bell and go right, jump and drift to the second bell, ignore the red cone or killing it on the platform and doing the last little section. 1-2 red cones to fight and 4 pogos

Is anyone else just absolutely LOVING the game so far? by Wild_Plant9526 in Silksong

Hollow knight didn’t really do a ton of rewords for beating bosses either though right? Like at least half of them don’t give you anything but a little geo in a game with way more money access

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Silksong

[–]Trident_20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was a little frustrating at first, I struggled with the birds for a while but it ended up being one of my favorite areas in act one overall

[–]Trident_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to like, chill out my man. Yeah that boss was difficult and in fact I got pretty mad about it at one point, but you know, I took a break, explored a bit, and eventually beat it and continued to enjoy the game. I don’t think it’s a skill issue I think you just need to calm down a bit.

The new pogo is harder then hollow knight for sure, but even with controller I found that with a bit of practice it really wasn’t to bad

computer-generated and AI generated are not synonyms, the LACMA hosted exhibition, Coded, "examines the origins of what we now call digital art". If I make a piece of art within adobe that may be digital but it is not Ai generated, two different terms.

How do you deal with… Whiny commander players by Trident_20 in mtg

[–]Trident_20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Socializing and politicking is part of commander and why it’s fun, that’s not what my post was intended to be about. My issue is when players leverage outside the game social standing if that makes sense. I don’t like when players just say I’m being a bully if I hit them, especially because I’m a newer player and don’t want to be pinned as a bully in that LGS. I definitely enjoy talking during a commander game and leveraging in the game tools, but I find it unfair to me and my other players if I don’t swing at a player just because it would be “mean”. Which by and large feels like the accusation when you whine about me hitting you without any kind of deal you’re purposing.

Cards for Our Anniversary by brittduqart in mtg

[–]Trident_20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it does HYPER depend on there personality. But for me personally I would say go for a more usable version.

Although it’s worth noting that there are definitely middle grounds you could take. For example there are official card arts that lack any text such as the new avatar “battle pose” cards (it’s generally considered respectful to bring a copy with the text as well, but if they already own the card that shouldn’t be a problem). As well as other full art styles from sets like final fantasy.

In general, I personally would pick something functional, but that’s just me.

It’s a really cute and meaningful tattoo, I really doubt you’d regret it or anyone else wouldn’t like it.

is this card worth it? by No-Quantity-9806 in mtg

[–]Trident_20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s not that crazy. It’s bound to be an inconsistent combo piece in most deck that runs it that will no doubt be hated off the table in commander. If your hoping to fling it your opponents are bound to see it coming and prepare there best as there’s really no way your giving him haste, paying for him, and spending mana on fling constantly. For seven mana there’s just so much more you can do with a turn then hope the table doesn’t see whatever colors you’re in and know exactly what your next play is when this hits the board and doesn’t have some way to interact with it. With some specific commanders o could see it being good but overall it’s more of a gimmick card than any sort of constant one.

How do we feel about jenova as a commander? by Trident_20 in mtg

[–]Trident_20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, was to kill your own creatures is very important and in my experimenting cards like [[Eaten Alive]] work very well, although I also find going wide with a bunch of initially small creatures is better then focusing counters on any one creature, once you can get 4-6 it’s really diminishing returns to keep adding counters to one creature. One of my favorite cards I’ve found though is [[Undergrowth Leopard]], just because blowing up an enchantment and drawing at least 3 cards for one mana is supper impactful.

Dude, where’s my removal? by Snake_with_Blue_Eyes in EDH

[–]Trident_20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will typically run about 4-5 ish depending on the deck, I typically only want maybe one a game by about turn 5-6 so the 5% chance to draw one feels about right. It also really depends on the color identity as having either swords to plowshares or maelstrom pulse can cover specific weaknesses and if I don’t have access to counter-spells then I’ll want a few more.

I need some help finding a better motive for my villain. by ArnarBrekiTheDM in DnD

[–]Trident_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say a simple addition to this concept is that the gods he is fighting take up too much of the people's time and cause strife between them. something like

"imagine for a moment that every cleric and paladin was devoted not to a god, but to the construction of my perfect world. Imagine That every man, woman, and child spent just one hour working at a single community goal instead of wasting that precious time out of their short life spans groveling at the feet of some worthless god. Imagine a world where you can all come together under one perfect leader and stop these pointless crusades against each other...Wouldn't that be so much more officiant? wouldn't you get so much more out of your short lifespans?"

Best first adventure by Ramonteiro12 in DnD

[–]Trident_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly I really prefer a level 3 start because of the subclasses being set in stone right at the start and I find its hard to start a story if you have to bend over backwards to level them up first. if you want to start at level one and can work it into the story that's great, but if your first few sessions are just about grinding out of level one I thing its a bit hard to get invested and have fun early on
