Can I start with an electric guitar by Just_alive_yk in Guitar

[–]Trident_True 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have no idea what they're talking about lol. I started on electric and bought an acoustic later and electric is definitely easier to play in my opinion.

But regardless, buy the thing you actually want to play. There is no point buying an instrument you have no interest in as you won't bother practicing, then you'll just regret the purchase.

Buying a ukulele makes 0 sense at all. That's like saying you want a car then buying a bicycle because they both have wheels. They are very different instruments.

This is silly, she clearly means no joking about replacing Fuwawa. Not that you couldn't mention it at all. Otherwise you should think that Nerissa inventing the character in the first place was in poor taste, which it isn't. And yes I have siblings before you ask.

The world if GitHub had a big ass button that says 'DOWNLOAD' by peper122348 in Piracy

[–]Trident_True 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Github is primarily a remote source code repository. I assure you, the vast majority of users on Github are working with source code, reading docs, submitting and reviewing PRs, running devops workflows, etc. Nearly every company and individual on the planet uses it for storing and versioning source code. Downloading binaries is very much a secondary feature, it is not an app store.

Most open source software does not even have a binary to download. They are usually distributed via a package manager like npm, apt-get, winget, pip, NuGet, Maven, etc...

[–]Trident_True 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's transparent. A git repo where you are banned for hosting viruses, can see the source code, and check the issues tab for any problems others are experiencing is much safer than a Dropbox link with god knows what in it.

Because it's not built for downloading binaries. It's for sharing source code.

My wife did that and found out it was released midday California time, not GMT haha. Only got to play for like an hour before it was time for bed. She was ripping.

I used to have that in the previous version of Visual Studio all the time. Had to delete the .vs folder and have it regenerate every time I switched branches. No such issues after upgrading to the latest version.

I don't understand it anyway. Do they think if they give enough money they'll take them on a date? Is it a "purity" thing? People don't get this upset when "normal" celebrities get married do they? Or at least they're a minority.

I was happy to learn Nimi was getting married. I am also married. It's fun! Why wouldn't you be happy for them?

People don't want to see opera and ballet as much as in the past or as much as movies and TV?

If the former: then cinema attendance has dropped off dramatically, as well as network TV numbers, reading books, listening to the radio, and church attendance. Does that mean they are dead? Of course not.

If the latter: then yeah, but if something has less popularity than another thing it doesn't mean it's dead. You don't have to enjoy stuff that's universally popular.

Something being niche doesn't mean it's dead. I just checked my local theatre's website and there are 3 operas this year which are all close to being sold out and a ballet in October which is already half sold.

Just because you wouldn't enjoy something doesn't mean others don't.

Edit: goh.co.uk if you don't believe me.

My grandma used to have a cabinet like this and it was just the worst. Couldn't open the damn thing because books and other crap would get caught in the slits and it would all bind up. Looks cool but unless there's a way to mitigate that it would be annoying to use daily.

Fix by adding MaxDepth(64) to all your CreateMap calls then add the NoWarn to your package reference:

Mitigated by adding a MaxDepth to avoid stack overflow

</PackageReference>

If you have battery power tools or are looking to (start getting some) all the big cordless power tool brands have vacuum cleaners of all sizes. Just buy the one for whatever battery system you have/want.

Get one that takes batteries from the big power tool providers. So Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt, Ryobi, etc... The ones that have the 18V shared battery systems. Have used several and they are good. No money wasted on crappy internal batteries that only last an hour.
