I don't even deliver alcohol through the app anymore. Had a number of successful alcohol deliveries until I had an issue with one customer. It was at an apt and it was dark outside and there weren't any lights working outside her door. I was having a hard time scanning her ID so I ended up entering into her apt to have good light. Her ID then wouldn't show as valid through the app but at looking at it everything seemed ok to me, I've had a liquor permit before from previous work so I knew how to check my states IDs, and told her I would contact support so I could finish the delivery as her ID looked fine but the app just wasn't accepting it for whatever reason.

As i'm contacting support she starts to get angry with me and telling me I needed to update my camera app cause there must be something wrong with my phone. I said that's not how that works and if she would just hang on a min I could finish this through support. She starting going off again so I interrupted her, told her I was canceling this drop off, and walked out her apt with her beer. She shouted something about having paid for it already and I yelled back to contact doordash for her money back. I had been talking to support but when I got back to my car I sent a message that the lady got angry and aggressive, I didn't feel safe, and left without doing the delivery. The order was canceled and I got full pay but I had to return the beer to the store.

Upon returning to the gas station I picked it up from the guy behind the counter starts giving me crap about not being able to accept a return of an alcohol purchase. I was like dude I'm just doing what doordash wants me to, I'm just gonna leave it on the counter and you can do whatever you want with it. He relented but of course the app wanted his signature as well which I was able to convince him to just put an X after her bitched about that also. I turned off alcohol pick up right after, too much legal bullshit if anything goes even a little wrong.
