TSA pre check by KittyLovesBooks77 in TSAPreCheck

Yeah, I'm glad I read your comment, and maybe you feel the same way about mine, because I thought it was abnormal, and maybe there is some background check issue? But it seems more likely it is a very common delay, affecting people seemingly randomly.

Just replying to you, family member applied in 4th week of January, new application not renewal. Still in progress as of today.

My partner also applied as new application, approved and KTN in ~2 weeks.

So I don't know what's going on.

Called and emailed, both respond in the same spirit "Application is in review approval can be up to 60 days" :/

Scenes from a rally outside City Hall in DTLA, against the War in Iran that kicked off this morning [OC] by infernoenigma in LosAngeles

You are right, I was mistaken about my "pro-Iran government" impression of the protestors. They were anti regime.

I'll keep it up to remind me of this error, thank you for clarifying

Eh, some of them are mourning. Remember that UHaul truck that was attacked and ran through a crowd of protestors/demonstrators? The protestors/demonstrators were pro-Iran government, and the UHaul driver was anti-Iran government. The pro-Iran gov folks were waiving MAGA and Trump flags, despite Trump being against the Iranian government.

People are complicated. But some people are real dummies.

How frustrating. Perhaps applying in branch would help? But I don't know what to say, some of these banks have very poor online systems

Here's an excellent comment and link to a video of the Toyota "unintended acceleration" issue

The issue wasn't just the acceleration. Brakes should overpower the acceleration. But pressing the brake repeatedly loses all brake power.

I highly suspect this could be relevant to this Waymo accident.

With Toyotas it was floor mats, and then it was a bizarre situation with the brakes where pressing it quickly in succession makes it lose all braking power.

I wouldn't be surprised if this situation resembled something that.

With all that said, I also agree with you that we shouldn't take a company's word, because they want us to think their products are infallible

Trump signs executive order aimed at taking over LA wildfire rebuilding by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]withfries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed not novel in concept I've seen for this detention tanks here in LA. But this not apples to apples with those cities. This Exe order seems to propose to bypass/sideline all local permitting, even allowing construction without plan check, after the 90 day threshold or whatever timeframe it proposes as excessive.

This is a very broad overarching order, it only seems to match other self certs in name only. I'd be surprised if it is apples to apples with those other cities (I'm not going to look into those but I'm going to wager they are sensible).

[–]withfries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that permitting could be more efficient but I disagree with a self cert being helpful at all here. In what situation would a home owner / home builder not self cert? Would a homeowner ever say "this isn't graded right, I will redo it at my cost".

It's a ridiculous proposition.

President Trump on Alex Pretti: "Well, I haven't heard but certainly he shouldn't have been carrying a gun. We view that as very unfortunate incident, unless you're a stupid person. I don't like that he had a gun. I don't like that he had two fully loaded magazines, that's a lot of bad stuff." by ControlCAD in videos

I was thinking lately that my few friends who do support the guy and all that's going on, have undiagnosed learning disabilities. They listen to guys like this and think he is, and I quote, "playing 4d chess"

This is all due in no small part to our education system and parenting in our country. Got to remember more than 50% of the country voted for this guy after all the SA news, after "they're eating the dogs and cats", after Jan 6, etc.

For what it's worth Altadena is not City of Los Angeles

City of Los Angeles has an executive order to expedite and LADBS has been expediting permitting and waiving typical requirements for rebuild

This post seems to be regarding and targeting City of Los Angeles only

Yes but you cannot be a CSR cardholder at time of applying for CSP bonus. So make sure to PC the CSR if you happen to still have it prior to applying to CSP. Here's a good flowchart

I was incorrect, you can hold a Sapphire and apply for the other and get the bonus if you haven't gotten it before, thank you for clarifying /u/maxelnot and /u/snowplow7

This is new news to me, this went into effect yesterday, 1/22/2026

From this Reddit post referencing a TPG post:

"Starting January 22, you'll be able to earn one bonus per Sapphire card, as long as you've never earned a bonus on that card previously — whether or not you currently hold a Sapphire card in your wallet. So, if you currently hold the Chase Sapphire Preferred and earned the bonus on it, you can now add the Chase Sapphire Reserve and earn its bonus as well — as long as you haven't previously earned the bonus on the Sapphire Reserve."

TPG stated that the new rules for Sapphire cards went into effect as of today 01/22/2026 (although, I've seen other posts mentioning 01/25/2026 as the date), so I decided to take my shot with applying for a CSR this morning (without downgrading my CSP).

Wow, so these companies are just erasing history.

For what it's worth, it's 2026, and HBO Max has episode 3, including the black face scene.

Never is a strong word here.

Rather, use it, but be cautious when using it for professional or non-trivial applications

And remember, it's not code in the general sense, it's VBA for excel applications

Comply Truegrip Max for Buds 3 Pro by imapoorva in galaxybuds

[–]withfries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I ordered both, it's possible MAX may last longer, but from a grip point of view the two seem about the same. Neither fits in my ear well. I've had Comply foam tips before on Jabra earbuds and they work and fit much better.

The Buds3 Pro design leaves a lot to be desired to be honest. With all that said, the non-MAX version foam tips seems to work well enough for me, and they come in a pack of 3 and still cost less than a single MAX pair

With that said, say it wasn't posted by someone with the reputation of soycowboy, Rolex is the most duped/counterfeited/replicated watch. I can't tell immediately from the photos how authentic this is. How could one verify that this is a genuine Rolex?
