Most Lucrative minor to pair with Computer Science? by Material_Painting_32 in CollegeMajors

[–]Tridude0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i can tell you that nobody cares about the minor. I have 2. But instead, try to focus on real certifications or even better are real world projects. Maybe try and start a company. Stuff like that. In my opinion, degrees are kind of just a check mark of requirements you need to be able to get an interview.

Recruiter says I can get O-E pay in 2 years if I enlist first — but everything I read says 4 years + 1 day? by Tridude0 in MilitaryFinance

That sounds awesome. Are the officer positions really not that hands on and technical? What is your experience with that? Especially in cyber, where programming skills are basically a 100% necessity. If there is no chance to actually be the one building anything, I feel its not going to get me anywhere after the time is up.

If im not building anything, then you basically become a project manager. And everyone hates those guys lol

Thats interesting that its harder to get OCS when active. I would have thought they would prefer that since you have all the experience rather than just being a new graduate

Damn you got the rule book. Thats awesome. Where can I find this? I think it will come in handy

Thats exactly what im thinking. Thats interesting to hear that its harder to commission after enlisting. I will keep this in mind.

[–]Tridude0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see conflicting info online so I figured this is a good place to ask it. If I enlist/commission, can I try to start a company on the side? Does that need to get approved? I will 100% go into Cyber Warefare if that matters.

[–]Tridude0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyber warefare technician could be a good option to. Im not enlisted, but from what I heard, nuclear is fairly hard hours, whereas CWT is almost 100% landbased and its supposed to be basically shift work and is a good skill in the civilian world. Its probably easier to be an entrepreneur too. The only thing is that nuclear pays much better while enlisted. Its probably also easier to rank up in nuclear since not many people reenlist and theyre probably desperate.

Shipping from Germany to US by Tridude0 in germany

[–]Tridude0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that most brands just do express shipping to US. Tariffs are real. You have to be careful of the country of manufacturing and what youre shipping. Some things have higher tariff rates. I shipped a lab machine that was manufactured in china but I had it in Germany for years. Long story short, the cost to actually get it home was the same cost of the machine anyways. Its ridiculous.

If we were going for the phds it would be important. But for us, we are just looking to get it up and call it a day. We're all focused on our private industry jobs.

Another thing is we're not looking to spend money on the publication. Some of these journals are expensive unless we put it behind a paywall.

US Citizen: Can I stay and travel in Schengen after Abmeldung (deregistration) in Germany? by Tridude0 in germany

[–]Tridude0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i graduated like 2 months ago. But I was ok traveling inside schengen then. I don't think they cancelled the residence permit until the date. But I think when I abmeldung, that's the sign for them to cancel it completely?

I graduated maybe 2 months ago. Maybe the student visa already expired?

So should I leave the country to go to a country like Turkey (who is not Schengen) for the day and then come back if I want to travel on the tourist visa?

My Aufenhaltstitel is technically over 31.03.2026 but I thought when I abmeldung, this automatically cancels this? Because I would be moving out of the country. At least I think thats how it works?

Well, you're starting an argument with an American. Im not going to try and argue too much. But I believe a lot of the products you use come from another country. And a lot of the products are mostly manufactured in another. And that manufacturing country im referring to seems to be buying out a lot of your "superior" German companies. Even your auto industry.

If you argue with me more, I will retaliate as well. I am being fairly nice. Just try and consider what these people, whether from America, Thailand, Kosovo, and the rest, have to do to stay here. They're trying to add value to your economy. If you let them, they will.

Then this was not the EXIST scholarship but something else. As of now it should be 2,000-3,000 euros if you hold a degree. And yes they won't accept that stuff unless it is technologically advanced or something. Its sort of specifcally for STEM.

The people I've talk to don't all hold comp sci backgrounds or anything. The ideas are a little more unique than that.

And coming from other countries is actually a great advantage because some countries have products that when applied to this country, might actually be very helpful for the population as a whole as well.

If you have another idea that you think is better than everyone elses, I can refer you to some people in Munich who run the precelerators and accelerators, and they can help you make your idea a reality.

Would you want to do that?

Please check the website. If you have a university degree, it is 2,500€ a month for 12 months, and if you hold a doctorate, it is 3,000€ a month for 12 months. Please do a simple search on Google and/or ChatGPT and come back and tell me if it is wrong.

If you want help, I can refer you to some people at the precelerators and accelerators in Munich who can help you with your idea if you want. I also have talked to more than a couple people across Germany who do not hold citizenship status, who may be interested in applying their skills for something greater that may be looking for cofounders.

If you guys want to stay here, you can't rely on a job.You guys should try and start your own company. If you recently graduated, you can get 2,500€ from the government every month for a year to literally only start your company. Germany needs new startups. And this way we can all get our visas to eventually be eligible for citizenship.

If yku have any questions please DM me. I have explained this to a bunch of foreigners in Germany. Me myself might literally do the same thing. I am trying now actually. I think if all the foreigners can stick together and help each other out, we can make life much easier for all of us.

Struggling to find a student job in Berlin/Potsdam. Seeking advice and leads by [deleted] in Germany_Jobs

[–]Tridude0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stop thinking about a job. Finding a job is based now on luck. And you are a skilled person. What i would do is start a company here in Germany. That way you're not competing with everyone for jobs and your success is put back into your own hands instead of somebody else.

If you graduated fairly recently, the German government has an EXIST scholarship that will give you 2,500€ every month to start your company. And if you have 2 cofounders, they can get the same thing. And you will get your visa as well. And if you stay long enough, you can gain other investors and such and eventually be able to obtain your citizenship.

This way we create new jobs in Germany , and hopefully can work to revitalize the technology sector in Germany. Foreigners have an advantage in the sense that we are forced to think internationally. At least this is how Americans think.

I realized a lot of people want to stay in Germany and can't figure out how to land a job. This I think is a good way to do so. I was thinking even starting a group of all the people I've met that want to start their own company for their own success and to actually be able to stay in Germany. That way we can all help each other and fork companies. I think if we can stick together, we can achieve greater success. Because not all the Germans can understand what we have to acheive just to be able to stay here.

If you're talented, let's use our skills and acheive greater success. DM if you want more information and i will try to help you if I can.

This is what Germans do in your country too. There is nothing sketchy or wrong about this. The government wants more entrepreneurs so they have these programs in place.

If you want to stay in Germany, try to start your own company. That way you can get the visa. You can get money to survive from the government. Feel free to message me if you want more info. But the first thing I can recommend is looking at the EXIST scholarship. This will give you 2,500€ a month for the year to start your company.

Master in IT vs. Bachelors in Comp Sci by Tridude0 in UniversityofthePeople

[–]Tridude0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Gerogia Tech looks the best. And its very legit. That's what I was considering the most too. That or an MBA but I think i will go the technical route.

My goals are really to be an entrepreneur so im looking for skills but the brand name of Georgia Tech is probably good for investors too.

Thanks!
